Vocabulary Talking about yourself There are three ways of
asking someones name in French and two ways of asking how old
someone is. Use whichever you feel most comfortable with. At level
2 there is a progression onto talking about others. Tu tapppelles
comment?What are you called? Comment tu tappelles?What are you
called? Comment tappelles-tu? What are you called? (this is
generally used in written French) Il/elle sappelle comment?What is
he/she called? Je mappelle...I am called... Il/Elle sappelle.He/She

whenever its their birthday. Use both age and where you live when
youre doing the register.

Je mappelle.., Jai..Jhabite As you click on each slide pupils
write the number. Pupils listen to the audio file and record the
name of the person, their age and where they live. This can be
played twice if the pupils need it. At end pupils can peer assess
results by listening again. Pupils could then create their own
recordings for other pupils to work out. A map is attached to next
slide to help pupils with locations in France. This could be used
to differentiate depending on the ability of the class.
