AviationEdBlue Jays (Preschool)An early start STEM learning could instill a love for the science, technology, engineering, and math for a lifetime. In Blue Jays, children learn concepts from multiple disciplines in different contexts that are natural and engaging. This program utilizes a blended curriculum to encourage preschoolers to think critically and build connections to foundational concepts. Participants will investigate flight, wings, weather, and directionality through stories, songs, and projects. The students will also be able to use the flight simulators and experience the realistic feel of controlling an aircraft!

Robins (K-2)The K-2 Robins program consists of introductory exposure to aviation through hands-on learning activities and the utilization of the standards-based AviationEd curriculum. Activities include model building, investigation, and simulated flights which provide science and math applications. Children’s books are incorporated as well to build language arts skills such as vocabulary, making connections, and comprehension. Topics such as properties of air and weather will be covered.

HawksIn the elementary years, it is important to ensure that students are excited about the learning process and educational activities. The more hands-on the learning process, the more likely the are to stay engaged. In the 3rd-5th grade Hawks program, students will learn about factors that affect flight, such as weather and the atmosphere, forces of flight, and aircraft instruments using investigations, the standards-based AviationEd curriculum, and flight simulators.
