I would l ike to del iver the greetings of grace and peace

to you in the Name of Our LORD!

Today, I want to inform you about a smal l miracle story

that our church has accompl ished for the last year. Do

you remember the parable of the Mustard Seed that

Jesus spoke? Jesus said about the Kingdom of God in

Mark 4:31-32, “ It is l ike a mustard seed, which is the

smal lest seed you plant in the ground. Yet when

planted, it grows and becomes the largest of al l garden

plants, with such big branches that the birds of the air

can perch in its shade.” The Mission Statement of

Frankl in Grove UMC is “Building Christ-centered

community based on Biblical principles to create

and nurture disciples that serve the world.” Our

church members bel ieve that God cal led us a mission

community. Therefore, we have tried to del iver God’s

love and grace to the world through our prayers and

good actions. At that point, we began to plant a

mustard seed from Apri l of 2012. We cal led it “M.S.P:

Mustard Seed Project.” For the M.S.P. , our twenty

church members joined the smal l group and they have supported with their

prayer and money to expand the Kingdom of God. They invested $5 or $10

dol lars per person, every month for the last year. Through the smal lest

seeds, we have supported our community people who are in need as wel l

as an Ethiopian girl in Africa regularly.

Let’s see the result. The smal lest mustard seeds ($5 or $10) grew and

grew, and final ly became the largest tree ($2,111.00). We spent the fruits

on the big tree for our community mission project ($750.91) as wel l as for

our overseas mission project ($1,360.09). I t is awesome! Who could have

imagined this result! Even though we just planted the smal lest mustard

seeds with the twenty participants, God made it as the largest tree. Praise

the LORD! Through this amazing miracle, I reflected on Jesus’ Word in John

12:24, “ I tel l you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat fal ls to the ground and

dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.

”Loving Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

We are fol lowers of Christ. Jesus sti l l wishes that we fal l to the ground and

die as a kernel of wheat or a smal lest mustard seed to make a difference in

the world. Yes, $5.00 seems very tiny and useless. I t does not seem to

make any miracle in the world. However, when we work together in Christ,

we can see God’s amazing grace and miracle in our l i fe. Our faith

community wi l l continuously focus on the Mustard Seed Project to make a

difference in the world. What do you do now? Would you join with us? You

can bear abundant fruits with your smal l decision and action. Now, Jesus

calls you here and now. † Grace andPeace in Christ,Pastor Jin-HoHong

"One ofthe most important ways we nourish

our testimonies is by sharing them with

builds others but brings greater "light" and

Gardening has begun. Thanks to some generous

donations we have been able to construct 2 raised

beds in the garden. We placed them in a real ly rocky

area. I t wi l l now be much easier for the plants to

grow.

Kel ly has received one grant and is working

on another so that our lunch program can

provide food before the garden is producing. I t

is also our hope to supply fami l ies with some

staples to aid in weekly meals. We want to

give them recipes to use the produce and the

things in the recipe.

There are l iteral ly hundreds of tomato,

pepper, kale and brussels sprout plants ready

to go into the ground at appropriate times.

Germination has been almost 100% on al l

seeds planted. There are also many seeds that

wi l l be planted directly into the ground.

Please pray that fami l ies take advantage of

this program. It is heart breaking to think of

anyone going hungry in America or anywhere

else. Pray that we can feed the people in our

community that need a l ittle help. †
