Automatic seek tuning start

Prerequisite:The priority for traffic announcements is ac-tivated. If you leave the reception area of yourtraffic program while listening to a tape ordisc or when having turned down the volumecompletely, the car radio will automaticallytune into another traffic program station. If no such traffic program station is foundwithin approximately 30 seconds, tape ordisc reproduction will be interrupted and thesystem will release a warning beep. Toswitch the beep off, proceed as describedabove.

Adjusting the traffic messagevolume

The volume of the warning beep and of thecurrent traffic message was pre-adjusted atthe factory. If you would like to alter thesetting, proceed as described under “DSCprogramming - TA LEVEL”.

Many FM broadcasters provide their servicearea with traffic messages at regular inter-vals.All traffic program stations transmit a specialtelegram signal alongside their programs, which is recognised and decoded by the carradio. As soon as such a signal is received, thedisplay shows “TP” (Traffic Program).Other radio stations do not actually air trafficannouncements themselves, but by usingRDS-EON they make it possible to receivethe traffic announcements of another stationwithin the same radio network. In this case,“TP” will light up in the display as soon as thepriority for traffic announcements is activa-ted. The display must then show “TA”.If a traffic announcement is broadcast, theradio will automatically switch to the linkedtraffic program for the duration of the messa-ge and return to the original program after theend of the message.

Care of your audio equipment

We recommend that you use only C-60/C-90cassette tapes in your car radio. Store yourcassettes in a cool place away from dirt, dustand temperatures exceeding 50 °C. Duringcold weather, allow very cold cassettes towarm up before playing them in order toavoid uneven tape transport. Operating pro-blems and sound distortions may occur afterapproximately 100 hours of playing time andare caused by dust particles which adhere tothe rubber roller and the audio head.Use a cleaner cassette to remove normal dirtbuild-up. For tougher cases, use a cottonswab (Q-tip) soaked with alcohol. Do notattempt to clean the mechanism by insertinga hard object into the player!
