What we ask for : Innovation Actions - main features

• Facilitate the adoption of advanced ICT in manufacturing domain

• Two types of Innovation experiments:

Obj. FoF9 – Phase II I4MS:

ICT Innovation for Manufacturing SMEs


� Application experiments provide first users with novel products and services and

assist them in the application in their respective environments

� Assessment experiments support suppliers of innovative high-tech equipment to

assess and validate their protypes or products in production-like environments



What we ask for : Innovation Actions - main features

• Experiments should be clustered in large projects to better exploit EU-

added value and achieve critical mass

• Financial support to third parties


• Financial support to third parties

� Funding opportunity for additional suppliers and users (typically in the order of

EUR 50K – 150K per party) which will be selected during the projects (in line

with the conditions set out in part K of the General Annexes).

� Maximum 50% of the EU funding should be allocated to this purpose.

Network of Innovation multipliers leveraging investment in research and

innovation in order to advance the European I4MS innovation ecosystem.

� sharing of best practices and experiences; dissemination; brokering between

users and suppliers in view of open calls;

� leveraging further investment by stimulating replication, by brokering access to

context of the European strategy on "Smart Specialisation"

What impact is expected:

� Attract new users of advanced ICT in the manufacturing sector
