WHAT KIND OF SUPPORT ARE YOU GETTING FROM COLUMBUS, GA.

Man Columbus has been looking out for Yungnep for a while now. I’m know every-where in the city from uptown, da dub, Southside, downtown n Westside. Shouts out to the whole C-Town.

WHAT MOVES HAVE YOU BEEN MAKING TO JUMP OFF YOUR CAREER

Just staying on the my grind, networking with the radio’s and local DJ’s and staying humble & focused.

WHAT ADVISE DO YOU HAVE TO OFFER SOMEONE ELSE THAT WANT TO BECOME ARTIST

. No matter what anybody say stick with your craft. Get the streets on your side, stay focused and determined.

WELL YUNG NEP, IS THERE ANY THING ELSE YOU WANT OUR READERS TO KNOW ABOUT YOU.

Yea, I want everybody to go out and get my fi rst solo mix tape. Keep your ear to the streets for my mix tape release party. Shouts out I85 Ent. , 62Shawty, DWest, Jo Yung, SWE Ent., Alpo and Legal Gangsta’s and all the radio station and DJ’s who supported me on my project. (Quote - This yo boy Yung Nep Mr. Everything Prada, remember Prada is not a clothing line or a name brand it’s a state of mind. GONE!!!!!!!!!!)

YungNephew

In talking to Yung Nephew and interviewing him I found him to be

a very remarkable, hard working young man, with a lot of passion and drive for this rap industry. So my main object with this article is to let our readers know exactly who is Yung Nephew in this growing city of Columbus. What the meaning behind your stage name.I’m an independent artist who is just on a none stop grind trying to get my music heard. I got my name from the streets; my former name was Kenfolk because I hung with a lot of older heads who consider me as there nephew. When I signed an artist development deal with I85 ENT we went with a more mark able name Yungnep.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN A ARTIST ON THE GRIND

Since I was 10yrs old. I remember coming home from school not even doing my home-work going st8 to my computer to work on my music.

SOLDIERS SEGMENT(MILITARY MIND STATE)

BY GADGET B. JACKSON

The mind of a soldier is a beautiful thing, but what a terrible thing it could be all in the same. A military mind state could be one of the most deadly frames of thought to be in and

can be used to either better or demolish a situation. Having the training of a warrior, the strength of an ox, and the

mind of a prophet can lead any soldier to success or to his demise. This is what divides our nation of soldiers

into a pie and creates soldiers for different causes which in turn makes the good, the bad, and the ugly. It takes more than a uniform or should I say a few stripes to make a soldier. The real question is who is to decide who the good ones and bad ones are when there are so many soldiers for different sections of leadership.

We will now start to go into details to hopefully bridge these gaps and cross out any confusion on what I am getting at. To clear up what I am saying, you do not have to be in the military to be considered a soldier in today’s economy, but the soldiers that are certifi ed for the country to protect and serve are the ones who get the least recognition, yet they do the most work. Explain Gadget, you say. Ok. In the streets we label mobsters, gangsters, drug dealers, and people who overcome so much adversity as soldiers. The guy doing 25 to life is a soldier, or the dead man that stood for nothing but a colored rag is a soldier. Larry Hoover, Tookie Williams, Tupac Shakur, Frank Lucas are the images that most of the urban community are subjected to as their icons, role models, and leaders. We eventually believe these same icons are now our parents, teachers, and friends. Problem with this is you are only as wise as your teacher and only as strong as your weakest link. So if all you

see, hear, and understand is that of your leaders, and this is what you are lead to believe will work, then how wise d o e s

that really make that soldier. What are you really trained to go for? This breeds several

soldiers that believe in what they were taught in basic training the same way that the military does. The difference is the teaching process and the image of the leaders. Two different forms of discipline are present. Some of you need to reread what I just said, but I will move on.

We also have your Bill Gates, the biggest thief ever, Donald Trump, Elvis Presley, Police

force, and all of the United States presidents. These are the images that are projected to

middle class and upper-class America as the ones to be like. These are those soldiers. The rich and the famous, franchise owners, and the big

boat and home owners are soldiers. The military its self is so full of surprises. Not to be funny or

SOLDIERS SEGMENTanything, but has anyone noticed the change in the crime rate since Obama was elected? The images that you are subjected to are what make and mold your mind. They are creating soldiers of different genres. I might have been a good military leader, but I would

never care to fi nd out. The images that I was raised on do not show

me that that is the route to go. Urban communities see the leaders as the

dope boys and the trap fi gures which makes them go super hard in that aspect of life. It is all they know, see, and hear. Compared to the upper class

that see the complete opposite and are motivated to work and

be successful in different ways. Positions in congress, the white house, lawyers, doctors, and the military are the images given to the upper class. While drug

lords, gang leaders, rappers, a n d athletes are the images given to the urban community.

Soldiers are people who fi ght for what they believe is right, correct? People that stand for what they believe in and fi ght to protect their families and the ones they love. Soldiers are men and women that go above the call of duty to provide for their families, right? So who is to say that I am wrong for being a soldier in the Urban community and fi ghting for what I believe is right ,and what I see the leaders our media gives us as the right thing to do? Who is to say a soldier in the military is wrong for leaving his family for months to go protect and serve for his country?

Why am I not considered a soldier in America’s eyes if I followed the image that America gave me of a soldier in the urban community? Why are you more of a soldier because you followed the image that America gave you of a soldier in the upper class community? Is it because all of the soldiers and leaders in my community are projected as negative, aggressive, and violent African Americans that work in illegal ways? Is it because all of the soldiers that are projected in the upper class are actually what the defi nition of soldiers is in an American dictionary? Who decides? Should these gang leaders not be considered leaders or soldiers at all, and if not, why are they projected as the faces of our world? No more Malcolm X, Martin Luther King, Thomas Eddison, our founders, and people that paved the way for our community. So we are left with the guns and violence that is seen on TV and the booty shaking music we hear on the streets. We see soldiers all in the same, but soldiers for a different cause.

Tri-Tri-State State Columbus GA, before we get to the heart of the article I want you to take a minute to get to know exactly who Tri State is?

Tri State is from Richmond, VA. .Born and raise with a very strong family support. He is not a Gangster or Thug out rapper; we need to clear that up off top.

Further in to this interview, very well dress Tri State show his more passionate side for the rap industry with a very humble voice and eyes hid behind sporty shads. Tri State rubs his hand together and proceeds to talk. I’ve never been the commercial type of guy, but I have a free style flow that was different than the average Joe. If I don’t know nothing about it I keep my mouth shut about it. But I have a lot to say to the world. I rap about my real life experience. So what ever I rap about I have live it to the fullest, highest and the lowest of what life have to offer. I’ve always had my family support, much love to my Mom and Dad and my whole family. My VA family, Lil Lewis,

Big Biz Niz ENT, South Carolina Boys, and my St Louis Cat “Scorpio” New Jersey home boys. So let talk about my name, Tri State growing up in the military I had no choice

but to try different places and things. I learn to work hard and stay focus on staying on top of my game. I study the style of some the greats (Jay Z Tupac Biggy Smalls

DMX and MnM) and began to mold my style. So I would say that my style rapping style would be very aggressive my lyric leaves a path of havoc. My beats are fresh

and I have something every one can ride to. With east coast slang my rap sound is clearly what you would like to put your ear to. I can also remember when I

was about 13 I would work all day and night on my DJX2 making beat. Or even the first time I recorded in someone closet. Then walking into a

real studio, that’s apart of life lesson. You live and learn with every step of the industry. It won’t happen over night but when it does

happen be ready.” Mo Money Mo Problems”.

Tri State would like to advise other artist, venture into other cities to gain more exposure rather than remaining in one location. Stay on the grind, never give up! Rapping or flowing is apart of your soul stay true and never back down, keep your head up and push on. Put on like it’s your last show because you never know who watching. Last keep a positive attitude cuz it a hard knock down business. Thick skin need to be your middle name.

Good Luck.

Tri-State

A Mayor Who Will Get Things

With an energy not seen in typical politicians and a passion for Columbus, Teresa has been working to improve in-town communities, strengthen neighborhoods and bring jobs and shops back to areas left behind. She worked for 10 years with the MidTown Project and MidTown, Inc. a non-profi t community renewal organization. A few of her successes include negotiating and drafting the zoning ordinance that allows the owners of Cross Country Plaza to build a new Publix on Macon Road – making it among the largest Publix in the country. Teresa is also credited with renegotiating road projects saving millions in taxpayer dollars. Teresa likes to say: “I let my work speak for me”, and that it does. Teresa has a long record of bringing about real results for the citizens of Columbus, Georgia and now she offers herself for public service on a new level – that of being the Chief Executive or Mayor of the City.

“It’s time to realize that Columbus has grown and broadened. We have more people at the table now and it is time to embrace the entire community and understand that our future lies in making every corner of Columbus economically successful. We

need jobs, middle-income neighborhoods and retail all over Columbus, not just in the north part of the city”, Teresa explains. “I’m running for Mayor because we can’t wait four more years to

get this done”.

Not only does Teresa Tomlinson have economic development experience, but she practiced law for 16 years (so she knows what government can and cannot do) and she has owned three businesses. Teresa is the

only candidate for Mayor that has the fresh vision we need and the real-world experience it takes. Starting September 20th through November 2nd you can vote to take Columbus, Georgia to the next level by voting for Teresa Tomlinson – She’ll get the job done.

Ask those that know Teresa Tomlinson and you will hear: “That woman gets the job done!” Isn’t it time we had someone who can get the job done in the Columbus, Georgia’s Mayor’s offi ce? Teresa thinks so and that’s why she is running for Mayor: “I love Columbus and I can’t stand to see us miss any opportunities. We need someone in the Mayor’s offi ce who is use to solving diffi cult issues and isn’t afraid of confl ict - someone who has a record of bringing people together to get things done. I looked around and realized that I happened to have the life experience and skills Columbus needs right now. It’s exciting to think about what we can do in Columbus with fresh thinking.”
