HELPING HAND FUND – ST. VINCENT DePAUL St. Vincent DePaul was known as the “Great Apostle of Charity” for his compassion and generosity to the poor. Here at St. Pius X Parish, we have had a fund known as the “Helping Hand Fund” that has been used over the years to help the poor in our parish and community. Helping Hand has been funded by a small number of parishioners who just gave donations to “help the poor.” In order to give others an opportunity to offer charity to someone in need, a Helping Hand Fund – St. Vincent DePaul envelope may be found on the table in the Narthex for anyone who would like to contribute to the fund throughout the year.
ARE YOU REGISTERED AT ST PIUS X ? Many families move in and out of Selinsgrove all the time due to their line of work. Even if you will be here for only a few years, we ask that you register in the Parish. For a registration form, please contact the parish office by calling 570-374-4113 or visit our website at stpiusxparish.net. We cordially invite you to become a member of the St. Pius X Parish family.
E-MAIL ADDRESSES REQUESTED In an effort to have the ability to communicate with the parish in an electronic fashion, we are asking for each family who has an e-mail address or an update to their e-mail address to submit it to the Parish office. Simply e-mail your name and e-mail address to the Parish office at [email protected]. We can then add this information to our in-house Parish Data System. Also, take this opportunity to update your phone number. Many have eliminated their landline phone, so please supply us with your current phone number. Thank you.
SAVE THE DATES - OBERAMMERGAU PASSION PLAY 2020 Mark your calendars now for a once-in-a-decade opportunity to see the Oberammergau Passion Play in 2020. In addition to the play on September 12, 2020, the trip will include visits to cities like Paris, Milan, Turin, Riva Del Guardia, Innsbruck, Oberammergau, Salzburg, and Munich. LEGION OF MARY The Legion of Mary is the largest apostolic organization of lay people in the Catholic Church, with well over 3 million active members in almost every country in the world. Approved by 6 Popes and endorsed by the Second Vatican Council. The main purpose of the Legion of Mary is to give glory to God through the sancti-fication of its members. Members become instruments of the Holy Spirit through a balance program of prayer and service, under the guidance of a spiritual director named by the pastor. The Legion is, in essence, an extension of the heart and hands of the pastor. Membership is open to Catholic men and women.
