WHO?
WHat?
WHen?
WHere?
The Gregg Museum of Art & Design, NC State
University’s collecting art museum, has found
a new home for its diverse collection of 25,000
objects and its various education and public
programs.
The Gregg Museum Campaign must raise funds
in order to renovate and build the museum’s
new home and grow the Gregg’s endowment.
NC State University demonstrated its commit-
ment to the new museum by funding half of the
capital project.
The Gregg Museum Campaign is underway
now. Once we reach our goal, we will begin
renovations and construction, and soon we will
have the new Gregg Museum of Art & Design!
The historic chancellor’s residence at 1903
Hillsborough Street in Raleigh will be the
site of the new Gregg, forming the apex of a
campus and community arts complex that will
include Pullen Arts Center and Theatre in the
Park.
and the biggest question . . .3
think about
The new Gregg Museum of Art & Design was designed by
the celebrated Freelon Group, headquartered in Durham,
NC. The Freelon Group are the lead designers of the new
Smithsonian National Museum of African American
History and Culture. Freelon’s Principal and Founder, Phil
Freelon, graduated from NC State’s College of Design and
was appointed by the President of the United States to the
U.S. Commission of Fine Arts.

WHY?Because the Gregg Museum is an
accessible and innovative hub of
interdisciplinary research and hands-
on learning. The Gregg holds major
collections in textiles and clothing,
ceramics, folk and Native American
art, photography, design, decorative
arts, and outsider art. The museum
is poised to share these extensive
collections and use them to educate
students and the community.
The Gregg Museum is ready for its
big leap forward.

dinary access to anyone who visits.
The Gregg staff will personally show
you the collection. Visitors can even
handle objects, because the Gregg
knows there’s nothing like seeing
and touching the real thing.
