FOUNDATION BEAT WEST HALDIMAND HOSPITAL AND HEALTHCARE FOUNDATION NEWSLETTER FALL 2015 Our Auction Committee is working hard to make this year’s auction the best ever. These dedicated volunteers are gathering a wonderful array of auction items. There is always something for everyone! Be sure to mark your calendar for Saturday November 21, 2015. Doors will open at 6:30 pm at the Hagersville Community Centre located on Main Street in Hagersville. Our Auctioneers keep the auction lively. For those who prefer a silent auction there will be three tables set up with staggered closing times. As always draw raffles keep things exciting. The Hospital Auxiliary provide a light lunch and the Hagersville Lions Club look after a cash bar. The Foundation appreciates the Lions Club and the Hospital Auxiliary for their support. Pieter Wonder, Chair of the Auction Committee stated “Once again I am pleased with the support our Community has shown for the Auction. Businesses and individuals across our community have provided financial support through the sponsorship program as well as great items for the auction”. Proceeds from the auction will go towards much needed hospital equipment such as the Portable Digital X-Ray Unit. Goal is Within ReachThe West Haldimand Hospital and Healthcare Foundation is currently fundraising for a GE optima portable digital x-ray machine. The new equipment replaces a twenty year old machine.
Erin McNeice Team Lead, Diagnostic Imaging Department stated “The new equipment has state of the art technology providing better image quality with a decreased radiation dose to patients. As well, the attending doctor can see the images right away. This is especially important in a trauma situation.”
Susan Coe, Manager of Development reported the Foundation has a goal of $170,000 for this equipment. To date $110,000 has been raised. Your continued support is very much needed. Each donation brings us closer to our goal.
