Initially planning to go back to Japan as an electrician, a car accident kept Maegawa in London enabling him to rethink his passion as a fashion designer as he recovered. Recently graduated from MA course at Central Saint Martins, Maegawa shows great respect for Japanese literature and street culture. His works displays great hint of Rei Kawabuko’s (Comme des Garçons) intelligence, Yohji Yamamoto’s anger and Issey Miyake’s elegance. His collections come with a passion of electric materials and his signature surface decoration.

Immediately after her graduate show in the prestigious Womenswear MA at Central Saint Martins’, Ward was snapped up by Alberta Ferretti to design for her in Italy. The collection is filled with sculptural jewellery and boned, textured clothing. Inspired by 1980s ‘bad taste’, tinsel, lametta and work of Felix Topolski, Ward explains “I like simple vests, basic shapes and staple wardrobe garments: Deep down there’s the minimalist in me but I create statement jewellery which adds something extra.” Delicately layered wax cotton dresses, pastel shades and sheer fabrics embroidered with Ward’s trademark use of metal jewellery combine to create structured silhouettes and classical pieces.

Following the nature and body-inspired A/W10 and S/S11 collections, this season sees Shao Yen take on the theme of “goddess”, continuing to marvel us with exaggerated, empowering silhouettes. Successfully participating in Selfridges’ Bright Young Things project, Central Saint Martins MA graduate Shao Yen Chen stunned London Fashion week A/W11 with his SKIN line under his womenswear label Shao Yen. With inspirations from the elegant, mysterious and powerful goddesses from the East and West, Shao Yen replaces the classic goddess soft line drapes and pleats with the cording technique and transforms them into more graphic and relief-like contours. Carefully blended with Swarovski crystals and voluminous fur, Shao Yen’s A/W11 collection presents an exciting lineup that sets him ready for a new departure.A London-based fashion designer, his work brings together sculptural forms and innovative textiles. He interned with some of the biggest names in European haute couture, including Hussein Chalayan, Claire Tough and the late Alexander McQueen. His work has been covered in USK Magazine’s, SHOWstudio, ELLE Taiwan’s cover, February/March issue of Wonderland Magazine. Schön! Magazine volume 10, NYC-based Open Lab Magazine and Susie Bubble’s blog. Shao Yen has been regarded the most remarkable designers.

Imogen Belfield’s jewellery takes influence from both architecture and nature combined. Delicate porcelain fragments are enrobed in the textured metals of gilded gold, silver, bronze and steel with pendants, rings and necklaces taking on an organic twist. Belfield’s hand crafted work represents hours of careful constructed thought and inspiration. She experiments with materials from porcelain to gemstones, creating casts from paper, plastics and with the odd fruit thrown in. Modern yet classic, bold yet subtle. Belfield’s work has won awards from the British Jewellery Association, The Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths, South Square Trust and in 2010 she was awarded New Designers One Year On.
