How much do they buy?
How often do they return?
What are the demographics of my customers?
What are my highest margin products?
What are my highest revenue products?

Do it as early as you can
Have a process to collect the data systematically (Autonomous)
Focus on knowing how accurate the data is
Volume and consistency count
Collect whatever you can think of and more
Get it into SQL
Back it up. Dont lose it. (it will be your greatest asset)

Prioritize your questions
Important measurements should be first.
2)Grab the raw data
Using SQL!
Transform the data
Do as much as you can with SQL, then do the rest with Excel.
4)Summarize the data in a report
5) Annotate the report to give it meaningHighlight important results, write notes to make sure you remember how to read it.
