Just Want to Praise YouJust want to praise you forever
Gracious God, we praise you for being near to us whenever we pray. Yet we confess that our hearts are often far from you. We rely on our wisdom, our strength, and our resources. We are restless and anxious about many things.
Confession of Sin
Forgive us for our foolishness and faithlessness. Cover us afresh with your grace. Restore us, renew us, and ignite in us a passion for your glory and Kingdom. In Jesus’ Name we pray. Amen.

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the

spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.14 Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,
15 and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace.16 In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; 17 and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God,

2) Lead Us - Deliver Us
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Vs 13
“ When tempted, no one should say, "God is tempting me." For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; 14 but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.”
James 1:13-15
“This prayer is more about that we may overcome temptation than that we may avoid it. “Do not allow us to be so led into temptation that it overwhelms us, but rescue us from the evil one.”
John Stott
No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
1 Corinthians 10:13
“When a Christian shuns fellowship with other Christians, the devil smiles. When he stops studying the Bible, the devil laughs. When he stops praying, the devil shouts for joy. “
Corrie ten Boom
“If millions of Christians can be tempted to neglect the church, the scriptures, prayer and other dynamics of spiritual life, they can be kept at a subsistence level of strength which will offer little threat to the kingdom of evil.”
Richard Lovelace
Advantages from Remaining SinFrom a Letter, April, 1772 by John Newton
“..As to the remedy, neither our state nor his honor are affected by the workings of indwelling sin, in the hearts of those whom he has taught to wrestle, strive, and mourn, on account of what they feel. Though sin wars, it shall not reign; and though it breaks our peace, it cannot separate from his love…….
…..Though they cannot fulfill the law, he has fulfilled it for them; though the obedience of the members is defiled and imperfect, the obedience of the Head is spotless and complete; and though there is much evil in them, there is something good, the fruit of his own gracious Spirit.”
“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes….”
