4. PItOTEST: A protest against a yacht may l)e made: (a) by another yacht, orOWENS 40’ (b) by the Race Committee if it saw the incident that led to its protest. A t)rotest

must be in writing, duly signed, listing the rule or rules alleged to have been in-fringed, and contain a statement of the facts. Race Committee ,viii have avaihtblcAuxiliary Cli|l, er a special form for protests and this form must be filled out. Protests must Ire filedwithin two hours after the protesting .boat finishes the race.

COURSE RACING REGULATIONS

(All times referred to are Eastern Daylight Saving Time)

guests.

2. Number of Races. All Divisions: 3 Races, except Dragons which have 5.

Sl. No yacht will be recognized unless her oflicial racing number is properly displayed.All races shall be sailed under 1957 N.A.Y.R.U. Racing Rulest-except that theforemost fixed part of a yacht \vill determine starting and finishing.

(b) by the Race (ommittce if it saw the incident that lcd to its protest. A protestmust be in writing, duly signed, listing the rule or rules alleged to have been in-

fringed, and contain a statement of the facts. Race Committee will have availablea special form for protests and this form must be filled out. Protests must be filedwithin two hours after the protesting boat fini-shes the race.

Other signals to be used by Judge`s Boat are as follows:GRIFIEN FLAG indicates leave buoys to Starboard.RED FLAG indicates leave buoys to Port.

COURSESL Courses used will be as per the course cards provided by the Roch-

ester Yacht (`-lub. ()nc Triangle will he used having legs of 1% miles length for

the small course, 3 mile legs for the large triangle. The starting pointyfor both

triangles will be at a buoy having a. flag of three colors-~ Pink, Yellow and Black.The short course buoy flags will be Yellow and Black diagonal flags. The Largecourse buoy flags will be solid pink in color.

'_l`he short course \vill be within the large course, with all yachts starting and finish-

ing at the same point.All Yachts \vill start 'between the buoy with the three color flag and the white flagon the Judges boat.

The course cards give you the bearing for the three legs of the course. If buoysarc to Starboard you read across thc card for each bearing. If buoys are to PORI

you still start with` the hearing for the lst leg in the left hand column but, the

bearing for the second leg is in the right hand column and the bearing for the

third leg is the center column. Course number \vill be posted on the Judges boat.
