Overall, more than 10 different countries are represented by musicians on stage at Summerfest concerts. Summerfest outreach includes a July week of performances for residents and students of Panama in partnership with the US Embassy, Bern Resorts, Rotary Clubs and the Panama Instuto Nacional de Cultura. Join Us For South Florida’s Longest Running Summer Music Festival
Symphony of the Americas’ internationally acclaimed summer festival, Summerfest, has performed in theaters throughout the US, Europe and the Americas for 22 years. This year’s Summerfest features the Mission Chamber Orchestra of Rome. This diverse group, in association with the Vatican, joins musicians of the Symphony on a musical journey from Italy to Central America.
Our twenty performances will feature Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, Sarasate’s Habanera, the music of Grieg, Saint-Saëns, Cole Porter, and a world premiere by Italian composer & soloist, Lorenzo Turchi-Floris, A Summerfest highlight features Panamanian composer and oboe soloist, Juan Castillo premiering his work in honor of the Centennial Celebration of the Panama Canal at the University of Florida, Gainesville.
Maestro James Brooks-Bruzzese joined by Turchi-Floris, will lead this eclectic group of musicians from three continents, in unique musical repertoire offering an exhilarating perspective on musical cultural exchange.
