Disney World sees about 47 Million tourists a year, making it the most visited theme park on the planet. It covers 47 square miles and is home to four theme parks, two water parks, 24 themed resorts, five golf courses and various other recreational facilities.
The four main theme parks are the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Currently Disney World is undergoing two of its largest expansions in history. The new Avatar Land, modeled after the planet of Pandora, is rumored to have a budget in the region of $500 million with a tentative opening date in 2016.
Disney is also doubling the size of Downtown Disney, now rebranded as Disney Springs, and will ultimately feature more than 150 businesses in the coming months.
