This is our #1 Priority – over any sale,any day. As REALTORS® we aretrained to meet with and pre-qualifyour buyers prior to bringing them toview homes. We have systems toidentify who is in your home at alltimes. This is primarily for the safetyof the agent and the sellers of thehomes that are advertised for sale.When you sell a home on your own,you leave yourself and your familywide open to possible criminals thatmay try and deceive you. I’m notconvinced that saving any amount ofmoney is worth the risk of knowingthat a criminal may target you andyour home.

When you are trying to sell a home onyour own….. it is an open invitation foranyone that has access to the internet,or your yard sign to ask to come inside.Most of the time potential buyerswould not be linked to a professional inthe industry. Which means there is noscreening, chance to truly investigate abuyer’s motives.  You don’t really knowwhat their intentions might be.REALTORS®  take precautions tomake that invitation a little harder toearn. There are so many moving parts to areal estate transaction that couldjeopardize the sale. If the buyer youhave is not represented, then whowill make sure everything goes tocontract terms, and neither side getstaken advantage of. Here is a list ofpossible deal killers:

• Home inspection has bad results• Buyer can’t get a loan after weeksinto the sale• You can’t get your repairs done intime, or cost effectively• Buyers lender “conditions” theappraisal• A Fight ensues over who owns thedeposit• Buyer changes their mind and youare not protected
