What employers say about volunteering...

The University of Ulster recognises that success in higher education de-pends upon many factors – not just

the knowledge achieved through tra-ditional academic qualifications, but

also the personal skills and independ-ent learning styles which are often

derived from elsewhere. Millennium Volunteers incorporates many of

these important elements and has the potential to empower students to put their learning, through volunteering,

to best use in the real world of higher

education. University of Ulster

Advantage recognises the importance of volunteering as it creates a platform for young people to develop their skill sets and gain invaluable experience for the workplace. The Millennium Volunteers programme provides an excellent stepping stone for young

people to bring value to their commu-nity, future employers and it enhances

their job prospects.
