Community-based vocational training has been part of KRRC’s programing since 1980, and continues to grow with ever evolving contracts and community employment opportunities. Plank Industries offers supportive services to businesses, entrepreneurs and individual customers. Work is completed in a team oriented environment, providing a sense of pride and accomplishment for participants. Services include carpentry, furniture refinishing, labeling and shrink- wrapping, packaging and specialty oven- baked dog treats called Dog-Gone Goodies. An onsite portable mill offers the opportunity for participant involvement in taking raw materials to a usable product for the woodworking area and supporting the popular production of kindling.
