Cycle Rally At Marine Drive

A cycle rally was organized by the Raipur Municipal Corporation on Dec 03. The guest of the event was Mr. Pramod Dubey Mayor of Raipur city. More than 2500 students participated in the cycle rally from different schools. On completion of 1 successful year the Raipur Municipal Corporation had organized a huge rally. Disha School participated every rally’s organized by the RMC in which different activities also take place like Nukad Natak to spread the message of “No Vehicle Once a Month”. Disha school was appreciated for the continuous support for the cycle rally.

Sports Day (Pre-Primary)

Disha School was filled with great zeal, excitement and frolicsome atmosphere on 6th December 2016 as the Pre-Primary wing celebrated its Sports Extravaganza. Almost 100 students from the Pre-Primary wing participated in the event. The students displayed a wide array of reverberant events of sports such as Flat Race, Chocolate Race, Partner Race, Hurdle Race etc. They mesmerized the gathering with their energetic performances. Head Mistress Mrs. Mamta Singh applauded the effort of the students and the teachers for making the event a huge success.

Sports Day (Class 1 to 5)

“Gold medals aren't really made of gold. They're made of sweat, determination, and a

hard-to-find alloy called guts.”

The much awaited Annual Sports Day was

held on Wednesday 7th Dec. The fantastic turnout from the

senior, middle teachers and the pleasant weather were the perfect boost for the

students on their sports day at DISHA SCHOOL. The students entered

into the spirit of the occasion in a grand way. Once the races began, the air was filled with cheering and tons of

encouragement for the young athletes. Students of classes 1 to 5

competed class-wise in events including sprints, sack races, obstacle races, Agility

Race and three legged races. Well done to all the teachers, other staff and of course

students who got fully involved to make the day a grand success.

Mathematics Quiz Competition

The Mathematics Quiz was organized on 9th December 2016 at DCHSS , Raipur for

the students of class 11th and 12th (PCM) as a part of process of learning exploration being advocated by the school and CBSE

under the CCE programme.The Quiz was conducted by Ms. Kavita Narwani (PGT

maths) . The contestants from class 11th & 12th (PCM) participated in the Quiz with

full of zeal and enthusiasm. The entire Quiz was divided into two rounds. The first

round was a Rapid fire round . The Buzzer round was the second round. The competition among the teams was very

tough but at the end the most exciting and evenly contested competition was won by

Bhupendre Sahu (12th PCM) and Lakshya Mishra (11th PCM) from Laksh House.

The first runner up team was Shubhanshu Singh (12th PCM) and Manhar Walia (11th

PCM) from Surya House.

DCHHS has been ranked No.1 in Raipur city CBSE School in a survey conducted by Education Today Banglore,Out of 836 school all over India. DCHSS ranked first in Academic Reputation, Individual Attention, Infrastructure Provision, Innovative Teaching, Safety & Hygiene, Sports, Education, Value for Money, Holistic Development, Leadership Management Quality and Co-curricular Activities. School Picnic (Pre-Primary)

Picnics add spice to our life. DISHA

SCHOOL (Pre-Primary wing) held its School Picnic on 14th Dec,16 at “ENERGY

PARK”. It was such a wonderful day when all the teachers and students played together. They all enjoyed this valuable

moment through various exciting games like passing the ball, Oranges and Lemon

etc. They had a lot of fun and took great photos too! Laughter could be heard

everywhere. The relationship between teachers and students strengthened after

their outing. They all are looking forward to next year’s school picnic at the same place.

Disha Premier League In DPL Performance of Disha School was enjoyed by the whole society. By consecutive four wins against Disha Hostler, Disha Law College, Disha MBA and Disha Faculty Disha School gets the ticket for the Semi’s without much trouble. But unfortunately Disha school doesn’t make it further for the final’s. The whole season was played tremendously great by the students of Disha School. There was no such one hero who did it, the overall effort of our student and Mentor Mr. Kailash Sahu and Shivshankar Pradhan helped a lot to achieve the milestone. School Picnic (Primary)

Picnics and outings bring smile on the faces of the children. An equal intiative was taken

by the DISHA PRIMARY SCHOOL when they went to ENERGY PARK. Preparations

and arrangements were planned for a cheerful day ahead. Students with full

excitement were seen with sun glasses and caps. The day started when students boarded the buses along with their teachers

to reach the Energy Park. They enjoyed different games preferably badminton and

cricket. The motto of this day was to inculcate the sharing habits among students.

They indulged in exchanging the different and varied recipes on the green carpet.

They were also taught not to litter here and there while eating. The trip was fun filled

and informative as they saw colourful flowers, toy train, slides, swings, ponds, boats etc. The Pandora box of gifts was

finally opened to distribute small packets of eatables as a surprise to all students.

Workshop on Mathematic

A one day workshop was held on 17 Dec 16 at Gyan Ganga School by Pearson on Mathematics. Kshama Mishra of Disha School participated in this workshop and successfully competed the one day workshop. She also received the participation certificate from the Pearson India.

Regional Science Exhibition organized by

CBSE Regional Science Exhibition was held at Gyan Ganga From 17 Dec to 19 Dec. Escort teacher from our school was Mr.Macklin Santiago and Mr. Diwakar Arkane Students of class IX Mohit Patel and Niklesh Agrawal had participated in this exhibition. They made multipurpose invertor under the exhibition category of renewable resource of energy.

Colour My World Drawing Competition

Every child is blessed with an ocean of creativity. To bring out the creative skills and the artistic talents among school students, a drawing competition, was conducted at DISHA SCHOOL on 20th Dec,16. The theme of the competition was “Colour My World”

The children showcased their creative skills in drawing and colouring and came up with their amazing talent. Drawings were displayed beautifully which were a treat to the eyes. It was very difficult to judge the best among all.

A interschool English elocution competiton was held at DPS Raipur on 20 December in which Shambhavi Shukla of class 7th and Ayusha Agrawal of class 8th participated in the competition from Disha School.

Salad Decoration Competition

Another creative and fun filled activity was organized at DISHA PRIMARY SCHOOL

where the students had to bring colorful vegetables to chalk out different figures on

display. Peeling and cutting the vegetables artistically was the main aim of this

interesting activity called “Salad Decoration”. Students were familiar with different vegetables like carrot, radish,

beetroot, cabbage, apple, guava, pineapple, kiwi etc. Students participated and equally

excelled in this activity.

Christmas Celebration

Christmas is a time to give and forgive. Christmas is literally the mass for Christ,

the day on which Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus. Our children of the Primary

School presented a small rainbow of cultural programmes which started with a

group song, followed by a Skit and ended with a marvelous dance performance.

Students of Class 1 and 2 came dressed as Santa Claus danced wonderfully on the

famous song “Jingle Bell” .All the students and teachers made this celebration a wonderful event!.

The festival spirit was witnessed among

school staff and students. The students enthralled the audience by singing a Carrol

song. By giving the speech , students highlighted the spirit of Christmas and the

birth and sacrifice of Jesus Christ for the sake of humanity. Students also spoke about the true meaning of Christmas , Ornaments

that are hung on a Christmas tree like the shiny star, the silver bell , cakes and

candles.After that the Santas who were dressed in red and white clothes, carried

bags full of toffees and candies distributed toffees and candies among the students.

National Basketball School Games Master Kanahiya Jha form Disha College of Higher Secondary Studies has been chosen for national basketball School Championship under the Category of 19ys competition. He will participate in National School Games at Nujwid Krishna (AP) from 10/01/2017 to 14/01/2017 to play in the 62nd National Games.

Educational Tour to Panchmarhi

Students of DCHSS from Std XI & XII were on an educational tour to Panchmarhi from 28th Dec to 1st Jan 2017.The tour was pontifical as it witnessed the mesmerizing and ornate importance of natural and pollution free world. It was fun filled trip away from school and home where the students had the opportunity to learn in a totally different environment. They had a taste of History, Botany, Zoology etc. 62 students were accompanied by HOD of Commerce Mr.Shabbar Haidri, Miss Samiksha Diwan, HOD of English Dept Mrs.Jhuma Bhattacharya and Diwakar Arkane.
