The total worth of these potential unicorns is currently 49 billion US dollars. When a startup is valued at $1 billion USD, it is considered to be a Unicorn.The city of Bengaluru, which currently has 33 unicorns, will receive 46 new additions, followed by Delhi NCR with 25, Mumbaiwith 16, Chennai with 5, and Pune with 3. Bengaluru currently has the most unicorns in the nation. It’s anticipated that the remaining unicorns will appear in 20additional cities.

Karnataka government launched the ‘Kashi Yatra’ schemeKarnataka government has launched the ‘Kashi Yatra’ scheme. The Kashi Yatra project, which offers a cash assistance of Rs5,000 to each of the 30,000 pilgrims willing to conduct a pilgrimage to the Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi, UttarPradesh.For this scheme, the government will be using funds of up to Rs 7 crores from the accounts head of ‘Assistance to ManasaSarovara Pilgrims’ which was announced in the chief minister’s budget speech for the financial year.Shashikala Jolle, the Minister for Religious Endowment, Hajj and Wakf, said, any pilgrim taking up the government-sponsored‘Kashi Yatra’ would get the benefit only once in a lifetime

Sandeep Kumar Gupta, Director for Finance at Indian Oil Corporation, has been picked to head India’s largest gas utility GAIL(India) Ltd. Founded in 1984 Headquartered at New Delhi. He will replace Manoj Jain, who is scheduled to retire on August 31.The PESB recommendation will be vetted by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) headed by Prime MinisterNarendra Modi, after the go-ahead of anti-corruption bodies such as the CVC and CBI.GAIL is India’s largest gas transmission and gas marketing company, with a 14,502-kilometre gas pipeline network and acapacity of 206 million standard cubic meters a day. Its natural gas pipeline network covers 21 states. It holds around 70 percent share of the gas-transmission network and more than 50 per cent share of natural gas sales in India.

Eknath Shinde, a rebel Shiv Sena MLA, will be sworn in as the new chief minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis told thepress. The dissident Shiv Sena faction led by Eknath Shinde and the BJP will form Maharashtra’s new government after nearlyten days of intense power struggles.The Maha Vikas Aghadi government’s authority in the state came to an end the day after Uddhav Thackeray resigned as chiefminister. Crisil cuts India's GDP growth estimate to 7.3% for FY23Rating agency Crisil has lowered India’s real gross domestic product (GDP) growth forecast to 7.3% from 7.8% for FY23.According to the agency, inflation is pegged to average at 6.8% in FY23 as against 5.5% in FY22.It also estimated the current account deficit to widen to 3% of GDP in FY23 from 1.2% in FY22.The agency expects global crude to average between USD 105-110 per barrel in FY23.

Ketanji Jackson becomes 1st Black woman judge in US Supreme CourtKetanji Brown Jackson on 30 June 2022 became the first Black woman judge to serve on the United States Supreme Court.Her nomination as a Supreme Court judge was confirmed by the United States Senate on April 8, 2022.Jackson is also the sixth woman justice in the US Supreme Court.

The Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE), Guwahati & the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Shillong signed anagreement on 1 July 2022.The objective of this partnership is to encourage entrepreneurship, incubation, and startups in the North Eastern Region.As part of the agreement, Both institutes will share infrastructure facilities like laboratories & libraries.

Centre amends Foreign Contribution Regulation ActThe Union Home Ministry has amended the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act.The amended rule now allows relatives to send 10 lakh rupees without informing the government.If the amount exceeds, the individuals will now have three months to inform the government against 30-days earlier.The rule also gives more time to the organisations to inform the government about opening of bank accounts.

India and the European Union concluded the first round of negotiations for India-EU Trade and Investment Agreements in NewDelhi on 1 July 2022.52 technical sessions covering 18 policy areas of the free trade agreement and seven sessions on Investment Protection andGeographical Indicators were held.The second round of negotiations is scheduled to take place in September 2023 in Brussels.

NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) has signed an MoU with Government of Rajasthan for development of 10 GWUltra Mega Renewable Energy Power Park in Rajasthan.NTPC Group has set its target of 60 GW renewable energy capacity by 2032.Additionally, NTPC REL has entered into a Joint Venture Agreement with DVC for developing RE Parks and projects.

Tata Power has signed an MoU with the Tamil Nadu government to invest about ₹3,000 crore to set up solar cell, modulemanufacturing unit in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu.The new plant in Tamil Nadu will produce High Wattage Modules with industry-leading efficiencies.Tata Power Solar’s Tamil Nadu facility will be the second such manufacturing unit after Bengaluru.

Veteran film director Tarun Majumdar passed away in July 2022.Notable among his works are Balika Badhu (1976), Kuheli (1971), Shriman Prithviraj (1972) and Dadar Kirti (1980).He's the recipient of four National Awards, seven BFJA Awards, five Filmfare Awards and an Anandalok Award.The Government of India honoured him with the fourth highest civilian award, Padma Shri, in 1990.

The privatisation of Neelachal Ispat Nigam Ltd (NINL) was completed on 4 July 2022.It was handed over to Tata group firm TSLP.NINL is the second successful privatisation by the current government.NINL is a company promoted by MMTC Ltd, Industrial Promotion and Investment Corporation of Orissa limited (IPICOL) andother government agencies.

125th birth anniversary of freedom fighter Alluri Sitarama Raju was observed on 4 July 2022.Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled a 30-ft bronze statue of him in Andhra Pradesh.The famed attack on the Chintapalli police station on August 22, 1922, with over 300 revolutionaries was carried out by him.
