Conformity about REACH- Restriction

Reach "Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation of Chemicals"

REGULATION (EC) No 1907/2006 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE

COUNCIL of 18 December 2006 concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and

Restriction of Chemicals (REACH), establishing a European Chemicals Agency, amending

Directive 1999/45/EC and repealing Council Regulation (EEC) No 793/93 and Commission

Regulation (EC) No 1488/94 as well as Council Directive 76/769/EEC and Commission

Directives 91/155/EEC, 93/67/EEC, 93/105/EC and 2000/21/EC

Under the terms of REACH, it is compulsory to register chemicals, but not the finished

product. Consequently, as manufacturers and suppliers of electronic components/systems,

HLS Tools, Labels suppliers and their accessories, we do not need to register these under the

term of REACH. The raw materials used are supplied exclusively by manufacturers or

importers situated in Europe. These firms are obliged to have registered the materials

contained. The polymer granulates that are contained in our plastic products are not products

within the definition in Art. 3 of the REAch ordinance and hence are not subject to

registration. No material evaluation need be carried out for polymer granulates. Although the

above-mentioned materials must not be used or added, it is not possible to exclude the

possibility that negligible traces caused, for example, by impurities in components used, may

be present.

This declaration of conformity applies only to Checkpoint standard catalogue articles.

Declaration about the RoHS conformity to

HLS Labels and HLS Tools

The Label (circuit) is made of pressure sensitive paper and hot melt adhesive. All of which are

used in everyday products sold around the world.

The Tools is made of plastics and metal. All of which are used in everyday products sold

around the world.

On the basis of Council Directive 91/689/EEC of 12 December 1991 on hazardous waste

[Official Journal L 377 of 31.12.1991]. amended by Commission Directive 94/31/EC of 27

July 1994 [Official Journal L 168 of 02.07.1994] and the German directive (GefStoffV –

Gefahrstoffverordnung) the waste does not contain dangerous materials.

On the basis of Report from the Commission to the Council and the European Parliament of

19 May 2003 on the implementation of Community waste legislation, in particular Directive

75/442/EEC on waste, Directive 91/689/EEC on hazardous waste and the German directive

(KrW-/AbfG - Kreislaufwirtschafts- und Abfallgesetz) these labels can be disposed together

with the household-usual waste.

On the basis of Report from the Commission to the Council and the European Parliament of

27 January 2003 DIRECTIVE 2002/95/EC OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF

THE COUNCIL (ROHS) on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in

electrical and electronic equipment are this labels compliant.
