AAvocado

Avocados are used to make guacamole.

Another name for an avocado is alligator pear.

They are also egg shaped

Bananas can be red, purple, or yellow when ripe.

Bananas are like plantains.

CCheese

Lots of animals produce milk like goats, cows, buffalos, and sheep.

We need milk to make the cheese so these animals can be very helpful.

DDoughnut

They can be prepared many different ways.

All doughnuts are fried.

Sometimes doughnuts are spelled donut but it really doesn’t matter.

EEgg

Eggs give protein to us.

Did you know that eggs are in the meat section on the food pyramid?

Many animals lay eggs but that’s off topic.

FFrench fries

French fries are just potatoes cut thin and then fried.

French fries are called chips in UK, Australia, and some other countries in

Europe.

GGrapes

Grapes can be used to make juice, jelly, and wine.

If you dried out a grape you will make a raisin.

They are usually made out of beef but can occasionally be made from pork or both.

Sometimes called “patty” but mostly hamburger.

Ice-cream is very similar to gelato, sorbet, and frozen yogurt.

There are so many different kinds of ice-cream.

The main ingredient is sugar.

There are so many different types.

The most popular company that produces jellybeans is Jellybelly.

KKosher Hotdogs

Kosher hotdogs are not much different from a regular hotdog.

Hotdogs have many names.

Hebrew National makes kosher hotdogs.

LLobster

Lobsters can be served many ways.

Lobsters are a crustaceans.

They are also seafood.

MMango

Mangos are native to India.

There they are sent all around the world.

Some say the mango is the fruit of the tropical world.

NNachos

Nachos originated in Mexico.

They are usually served with chicken, beef, or pork.

OOatmeal

Oatmeal is obviously an oat.

It can be a great and healthy breakfast.

You can use oat to make oatmeal cookies.

Pickles are not really pickles.

A pickle is just a cucumber dipped in vinegar.

Quesadillas are sort of like a nacho.

They use everything that’s in a nacho but instead of a chip you wrap everything in a

tortilla.

Rice is a grain.

You can prepare rice many different ways like steamed, fried, or cooked.

Salsa is sliced up tomatos.

It is usually spicy.

Salsa is also a dance and a type of music.

Tomato is a fruit.

When a tomato is growing it is green or yellow.

Most people think it is a fruit.

Don’t let the name fool you.

The cake is not really upside-down.

It is usually topped with sliced fruits.

This is a very popular flavor of ice-cream.

Vanilla is from orchids.

There are many things that are vanilla.

Watermelons are sold with or without seeds.

They are a fruit.

Watermelon grow on a vine.

They are shaped just like a cucumber.
