Multiple Intelligences… a theory by Howard Gardner

Nicholaus Copernicus (1473-1543)

Revolutionize your viewpoint

Nicholaus Copernicus is the founder of modern astronomy and the first to present a compelling case for the heliocentric or sun-centered view of the cosmos. The Revolution of Heavenly Spheres became intellectual dynamite: heresy to the church that places earth and man (God’s most important creation) at the center of the universe.

Born to an affluent Polish family, young Nicholaus traveled widely, visited the best European universities, and even studied canon law to prepare him for a religious career. But Copernicus’ fascination with science - particularly medicine, optics, mathematics, and astronomy - led him to revolutionize how we view the universe and our role in it.

Revolutionize your viewpoint

Let go of self-limiting beliefs.

a) I am not creative. b) I can’t _____. Or ... c) I am not good at ______?

Overcome such thinking. Ask yourself:

1) When did I form this belief? 2) What makes me think this belief is true? Or, 3) If I let go of this idea, how might my life change?

Heroes by Example When facing your ‘Everest’ consider ...

• What might you learn from the natives who live nearest the challenge?

• What sort of planning do you need to do to succeed in your “expedition?” What’s your Plan B?

• Have you planned for an unexpected “storm” or foul weather?

– Anonymous mountain climber’s proverb

“If it’s not getting harder,

then you’re probably not climbing.”
