The Coorow Farm was purchased by a group of farmers for the benefit of the Coorow Community. It is farmed each year by volunteers, using their own machinery and all costs are donated. All proceeds are used to benefit the community by the way of a small grants program. Coorow was first settled in the 1860s with the arrival of the Long Family. Originally Coorow was part of the Irwin Road Board which stretched from the South Australian border. As smaller Road Boards were formed Coorow became part of the Mingenew and Carnamah Road Boards. In 1962 Coorow became a Shire with its western boundary at the coast. The town’s railway line arrived in 1894, long before the town was gazetted in 1911. Coorow has a long history in agriculture

with the first Massey tractor being purchased by the Bothe Brothers in 1911. Bulk grain handling commenced in 1937 with the completion of concrete wheat bin with 600,000 bushell capacity in 1965.
