The new gate didn't make it this winter, so we will be looking forward to spring time weather that allows it to be installed. Overall we had a decent 2016 and we are looking forward to a better 2017. Reference is made to Member Rules; 8 &9 : There are new outdoor rifle range target bases we have purchased the steel for at a cost of about $ 500. The labor to construct the bases was done by Technology Welding at no labor charge. Most of the damage to the bases was accomplished by individuals using the bases themselves as targets by those who wanted to see what steel core ammo could do. The mounting straps for the uprights were malformed requiring that the wooden upright to be driven in and out using mauls and 1/2 inch rebar rods. The bases aren't approved targets and this kind of damage is criminal mischief . Reference is made to Member Rule 11 ; Concerning alcoholic beverages and the penalty for non-compliance . Especially on the ranges whether shooting or not. John General Meetings The general meetings are held on the third Wednesday of every month at 7:00 PM. Please feel free to attend these meetings. Election RecapShooting enthusiasts dodged a “major bullet” during the past election by defeating Hillary as President. While there were many factors that influenced the outcome, shooter’s votes likely made a major contribution to help Donald Trump win. We must keep in mind the fact that there are many politicians who still want to ultimately enact total gun confiscation. Please do not stop being politically active based on the outcome of the November 8 election. The NRA is still our best advocate for protecting the second amendment.

High Power
The southern tier high power league will once again have 18 matches at 6 different ranges, BCSA, Tioga, Sayre, Rockdale, Square Deal and McGraw. Schedule is being finalized and will be published in the next newsletter. Shooters can participate whether or not one chooses to join the league, but to be eligible for prizes you would need to be a league member and shoot 12 matches for the season. There are usually 2 relays, one at 9:30 and a second at 12:00. Matches consist of standing offhand, sitting rapid fire, prone rapid fire and prone slow fire. You can choose to fire a full 80 round match or an abbreviated 50 round match. The first match begins in April and runs through the summer ending in September.
