FMI Sustainable Seafood Committee Mission

The FMI Sustainable Seafood Committee works in a pre-competitive manner for the good of the entire food retail industry to:

•Identify and prioritize issues for action•Develop tools and resources on seafood

sustainability for the industry•Facilitate collaboration and cooperation

within the supply chain•Make recommendations to FMI’s committees

and Board of Directors on policy and program development

FMI’s Sustainable Seafood Committee Accomplishments and Highlights

From 2008 to today the SSC has:

• Initiated industry dialogue with multiple stakeholders• Developed FMI’s Sustainable Seafood Policy Statement Created

Sustainable Seafood Tools: Sustainable Seafood 101’s; Sustainable Seafood Toolkit

• Participated in educational sessions on behalf of FMI and the SSC at various seafood and food industry events

• Ongoing work with all stakeholders to move industry forward faster
