2.1 Product DefinitionThe product is a flushing unit for ceramic cisterns with a flush button for top actuation. The following versions are possible:
2.2 Advantages of the ProductConcealed cisterns — Easy mounting
— Pusher rods do not have to be cut to length— Overflow does not have to be cut to length (adjustable)— Settings can always be corrected— Adjustment range: 315 mm – 450 mm (cistern height)
Up to 500/520 mm (optional)
Other advantages: — Amount of residual water can be adjusted more easily— Axial offset of the push-button ± 10 mm— Tried and tested flushing technique (TWICO)— Improved ergonomics of the push-button— Downwards compatibility with TWICO I and KEGA

— The dual-flush system for TWICO II is based on the same principle as the currently used TWICO I sets.
When the partial flush is released, the closing weight is lifted off from the partition base. After a certain lift, the closing lever swivels in and puts additional weight on the overflowpipe. This causes the set to close earlier.
— When the full flush is released, the closing weight is not lifted up.
2.6 Description of FunctionThe dual-flush unit makes it possible to flush two specific volumes of water. The two different volumes are selected with the large push button and with the small push buttonfor the partial flush.
— Both push buttons = Small flushing volume— Large push button = Large flushing volume
2.6.1 Function
Full flush Partial flush
Large push button is pressed
Lever pulls upthe draw rodfor the full flush
Only the flush valve is pulled up via the adjustment pipe
The full volumeis flushed
Both push buttonsare pressed
The two levers pull up the two draw rods for the full and partial flush
The flush valve with theclosing weight is pulled upvia the adjustment pipe
The closing leverswivels in
The partialvolume isflushed

4.0 Service
4.1 MaintenanceRegular maintenance is not necessary. Deposits of limescale or sludge in the set or flush valve can be cleaned away using water and a brush.
4.1.1 Replacing the Flush Valve Seal
12
Partial flush
4.1.2 Setting the Partial FlushThe partial flush can be adjusted by moving the closing weight.
13
Full flush
4.1.3 Setting the Residual WaterThe level of the residual water can be adjusted with a simple movement of the lever in thelower part of the flush valve.
With and without residual water
— Improved flushingperformance dueto the upper energylevel with residual water
— Increased flushing volumewithout residual waterwhile the nominal waterlevel remains the same
— The residual water levelis approx. 55 mm abovethe cistern bottom
With residual water
Without residualwater

5.2 PerformanceFlushing performance: measured with standard cistern:
6 l in acc. with DIN 2.3 l/sin acc. with EN/NF 2.3 l/s
5.3 Product Guarantee/WarrantyThe guarantee is an integral part of the subcontracting agreement and is specifically agreed for each market and each customer.
5.4 Application FieldThe effects of cleaning agents, disinfectants, colouring agents, etc. that are introducedinto the cistern, for example through dispensing bags, have not been tested. We thereforerecommend that these substances are not used. In case of doubt, please enquire withGTAG.
Drinking water:The new internal fittings should be operated with drinking water only. The pressure in thepipe must be between 0.2 and 10 bar. The maximum temperature must not exceed 25 °C.
Used water (rainwater):If used water or rainwater is used, an upstream filter plant must be installed.
Sea water:If cisterns are operated with sea water (salt or brackish water), the angle stop valve andconnection nipple for the metal-reinforced hose must be made of dezincification-resistantbrass. Otherwise, stress corrosion cracking may result which will reduce the service life ofthese parts. A service life of 20 years or more can, however, not be guaranteed even ifdezincificationresistant brass is used. If the sea water is treated with chlorine it is absolutelynecessary to contact GTAG.
Chlorified water:If the cisterns are operated using water with a higher content of chlorine (e.g. water fromswimming pools or mineral springs), the ingredients must first be checked and approvedby GTAG. The angle stop valve and the nipple on the connection hose must be made ofdezincification-resistant brass.
Storing internal fittings:If internal fittings are intermediately stored, they must be kept in their original packaging. In addition, the temperature must not exceed 40 °C.
6.0 Standards, Patents
6.1 Test Reports/Approvals/StandardsThe flushing unit «TWICO ll» complies with the following standards:
— NF D 12-203 Standard cistern— NF 076 Annexe 0-DOL2 Specification for the internal fittings for France— DIN 19542 Standard cistern and filling valve— AS 1172.2 in processing Standard cistern and filling valve— ASME 112.19.10 Duration test ok— KIWA BRL-K621/04 Duration test ok
6.2 Approvals— CSTB— QAS— UPC/CSA— WRAS— KIWA— CSTB (NF) does not require an additional approval for Twico II,
since it has the same values as Twico I.
7.0 Product Phase-Out/Changes
With the new flushing unit for ceramic cisterns we are phasing out the existing TWICO andKEGA range. For wholesalers we provide a range of products based on this set.
