Mamma,
Easing the sadness of your death will take time to fix. Each birthday you said to us, “I am

Mother Mallie Mai Elizabeth Glenn, affectionately known as “Sister” to the family and loved ones was born on April 10, 1934 to father, Gilbert Alfred Clark, and mother, Hattie Mae (Word) Clark in
the Baird’s Mill community of Wilson County in Tennessee. She attended school in Wilson and Davidson Counties, graduating from Pearl High School and attending some college. She eventually married Moses Glenn of Lebanon on June 19, 1969. Her parents, her husband and two brothers, Hollien Clark, and James Clark have all preceded her in transitioning from this life.
She worked in health care for many years until she devoted her life to homemaking and caring for her sons. She was a lifelong and charter member of the former Hamilton Chapel A.M.E. Church where she faithfully attended as a matriarch and became the oldest church mother until the Lord called her home on November 21, 2017. She was also active as a Gold Star Widow because of her husband being a decorated veteran of the U.S. Army, during the Korean conflict.
She leaves to cherish her memories, two sons: Douglas Moses Glenn and Paul Alfred Glenn, both currently living in Lebanon, TN; a loving sister-in-law, Carrie English of Nashville, TN; nieces: Janie Majors Skaggs of Nashville, TN, Marsha (Luster) Shreve, Barbara (Charles) Wilcoxson, Sherry and Dora Glenn; first cousins: Jerome (Geraldine) Clark of the Needmore community, Pastor Raymond (Cernovia) Burns of Lebanon, TN and Charles Lindon (Jeanette) Smith of Watertown, TN; devoted cousin and pastor, Elder Dr. Robert (Cassie) Spickard of Gladeville, TN; cousins: Jeanne Ann Andrews, Pat Hairston of Roanoke, VA, Anthony Love and Alice, of Nashville, TN; and other relatives especially the Word, Clark, Glenn, Mother’s board of Hamilton Chapel and Hamilton Chapel Church families and many other friends and loved ones.
Obituary
MOTHER
We had a wonderful mother, one who really never grew old; Her smile was made of sunshine, and her heart was solid gold;
Her eyes were as bright as shining stars, And her cheeks fair roses you see.
We had a wonderful mother, And that’s the way it will always be.
But take heed...
Because she’s still keeping an eye on all of us, So let’s make sure she will like what she see.
