Installing WCDMA modules inside the FCOA cabinet
1 Installing WCDMA modules inside the FCOA cabinetPurposeThis section describes the module installation process inside an outdoor cabinet. The recommended installation location for the Flexi WCDMA BTS modules is the bottom of the cabinet. However, if you are going to use the site support module, reserve the bottom half of the cabinet for that purpose and install the modules starting from the top of the cabinet.
Before you startIf applicable, remove the module cable entries. They are not used in cabinet installa-tions.
If you are going to install cabinet options, such as the site support module, it is recom-mended that you do it before the module installation.
☞ Install the transmission sub-module to the System Module and connect the DC power cable before installing the System Module in the cabinet.
!
Electrostatic discharge (ESD) may damage the modules. Wear an ESD wrist strap or use a corresponding method when handling the modules. The ESD wrist strap does not work before the cabinet is earthed (grounded).

2.2 Cabling principles in FCIA installationCables are routed along the sides of the cabinet. Power cables must be routed through cable clamps.
☞ Route the cables for each module so that they do not interfere with installation or removal of other modules.
It is recommended that all external cables are routed on the right side and only internal power cables are routed on the left side.
There are slots on the sides of the cabinet core and on the cabinet roof for tying the cables. The cables are fixed with cable ties, except for power supply cables. The fixing of power supply cables is done with special isolated cable clamps, which are included in the site bag.
Routing external cabling of FCIAThe external cabling of the base station is routed through the roof and along the right side of the cabinet. Cables are fixed to the cabinet with cable ties.
• Route the power cable through the cable clamp, and through one of the cable entry holes.
• Route all other external cables through one of the cable entry holes.

7 Installing modules inside a 3rd party cabinetPurposeFlexi WCDMA BTS modules can be installed into 3rd party 19" racks. They comply with 19" racks that are defined in IEC standard 60297 Dimensions of mechanical structures of the 482.6 mm (19 in) series, parts 1-4. For further information on the 3rd party cabinet requirements, see 3rd party cabinet requirements in the Flexi WCDMA BTS installation site requirements document.
Before you startMake sure that the dimensions of the rack comply with the IEC standard stated above.
When installing Flexi WCDMA BTS modules into a 3rd party cabinet, module casings must always be used, i.e. module cores cannot be installed on their own. The casings provide support for the module cores and guide cooling air flow for each module.
Modules are installed without side cable entries, cable support plates and plastic front and rear covers.
Steps
1 Remove any plastic front and rear covers from the modules.
2 Remove cable support plates and their fixing screws from the module casings.
3 Remove all fixing studs from the module casings.
4 Remove the cage nuts (4 pcs) from the module casings and insert them on the rack according to the module locations.
5 Insert as many side trays as necessary into the cabinet.See the following figure for correct locations of the trays in relation to the module fixing points.
!
The modules are heavy. The weight of a module must not be supported by front panel screws alone. Therefore, side trays or plates are required under each module in a third-party cabinet.
