Summary

• China is the latest country to enter the market for TFT LCD displays

• Korean and Taiwanese firms are the market leaders at the moment

• So far, Chinese firms have not invested heavily in the latest generation plants

• Joint ventures with Japanese, Korean and Taiwanese firms may be the best way to go for Chinese firms

• All TFT LCD firms must work with world-class producers of materials and manufacturing equipment to be competitive
