Seconet meet the highest demands and are reliableand ready for use also in extreme situations. Forexample, fire alarm systems in tunnelsystems have to meet the greatestchal lenges . With heat detectorHeatSCREEN MHD 535 SchrackSeconet has created the perfect solutionfor difficult ambient conditions.

Whether in road tunnels or assembly lines in industrialplants, in extremely variable temperature conditions,HeatSCREEN MHD 535 will always be ready for use. Inthe heat sensor cable highly-sensitive sensors are installedat customizable distances, which measure the ambient

F temperature and report it to an evaluation unit. Eachindividual sensor can be programmed to fit its environmentand, consequently, also be evaluated. In this way a highlyaccurate localisation of alarms is possible.

The MHD 535 already operatessuccessfully in several industrial enterprisesand one road tunnel in Austria is alsoreliably monitored by this line heatdetector. The great advantage of thesystem is its individual handling. After

all, ambient temperatures in tunnels tend to vary greatlyand have to be responded to individually. The cable is alsooptimally designed for protecting garages or cable ducts,where often extreme conditions, such as heat, humidity orfrost have to be coped with.

odern hospitals are turning into health centers andentertainment is becoming more and more important forthe recovery process. It increases patients’ well-being and

thus contributes to a positive healing process. Schrack Seconet’s newterminals offer information and diversion for patients and moretime for the nursing and medical staff to care for and treat patientsentrusted to them.

Depending on the model used, these terminals are equipped for receivinganalogue signals, DVB-T and DVB-C up to IP TV and Internet access. Theycan be installed with flexible wall brackets as well as on the bedside table

and can be operated intuitively. Therefore, even older people have noproblems using the new technology. Depending on the model, the

terminal is either operated via a membrane keyboard or a touch screen.The terminals come in different sizes. The analogue 8.5 inches screenis designed for very short watching distances. Other models with10 or 15 inches also bring high-resolution images to the sickbed.

This advanced technology is suitable for every hospital bedand offers a great variety of options during the hospital stay aswell as individual entertainment without being a nuisance toother patients in the same room. In 2010 and 2011 the

terminals received the “red dot design award”. For this award apanel of experts evaluates different products according to criteria such

as degree of innovation, functionality and ergonomics. The competition isheld every year. The “red dot design award” is one of the world’s largest andmost renowned product competitions. obvious: “There has already been some IP know-how at theAKH. Therefore, to base new services on an existing networkwas the logical thing to do. Voice communication isdeveloping towards IP around the globe and it would havemade no sense at all for us to decide against a logical trend.”Another argument in favour of IP technology, according toSchnizer, were cost considerations and system consolidation.“The future lies in unified communication,” says Schnizer.

“We need a multifunctionalnetwork. In this area SchrackSeconet is a reliable partner whooffers individual solutions.”

Mr. Schnizer is also verysatisfied with the communication and infotainment offer ofSchrack Seconet: “The systems are extremely user friendlyand further services can be added quickly. The users areaccustomed to handle such technical devices in their ownenvironments. From the statement of account from the bankor the installation of software in a remote control unit –technology is a major feature in our daily lives. “In formertimes, everything had to be simple. Today there arepractically no borders left,” says Schnizer. “With the newcommunication and infotainment options many functionscan be fulfilled and doctors and the nursing team, butalso patients, can benefit from using the devices.”

in Vienna. This motto has been valid since 1784 and itis still lived by today. That year a “General Hospital”was opened at Alserstrasse in thebuilding of the former “Major housefor the poor and invalidated”. Afterthe turmoil of two world wars,political authorities decided toestablish a new central building,which, as a consequence, was erectedand occupied step by step.

In 1994, the hospital in its current form was finishedand accommodates about 103,500 patients per year onpremises of about 240,000 square meters. More than560,000 patients are treated in outpatient departments,about 1,500 doctors as well as 2,800 nursing staff memberscater to the needs of the people entrusted to them. And inthe background there is, of course, the administrative teamwho take care that everything runs smoothly.

People tend to get well more quickly if they feelcomfortable during their stay in hospital. Thereforesickrooms have comfortable furniture and equipmentwhich make even the stay in a hospital quite agreeable.

Ever since it was opened, communicationsystems from Schrack Seconet have been installedat the AKH, as the General Hospital usually isreferred to. These systems had to be graduallyupgraded to the nurse-call system VISOCALL IP,

which is based on IP technology.Another challenge was to connectVISOCALL IP with IT systems,which provide patients with newcommunication features rolled intoone single system. Among thesefeatures are value-added services,such as VoIP/SIP telephony, internetand portal access from the sickbed,which put patients into the center of

Baku is situated at the CaspianSea. The total area of the republic amountsto 86,600 square meters. The DemocraticRepublic of Azerbaijan, which was foundedon 28.05.1918, was the first democraticcountry in the entire Islamic orient. Afterincorporation into the USSR in 1922, it wasnot until 1991 that Azerbaijanbecame independent again.

In the framework of themodernization process whichgoes hand in hand with theeconomic upswing, and, inparticular, with the growingpetrol industry, safety andsecurity is gaining in importancein this Caucasian country.Schrack Seconet is proud to have successfullygained a foothold in this country and hasimplemented a lot of projects together with itspartner company, Safe Life LLC. Safe Life LLC isa young company. It was founded in 2007 andhas been cooperating with Schrack Seconet since2009. Already after such a short time contractsfor equipping hotels, metro stations, banks, officesand historic buildings as well as schools could be

The company supplies both private homesand major customers with sustainable energy. From November 16 to19, experts of medicalengineering from all over the worldgathered in Düsseldorf to share or gainexpert knowledge. At the stand of SchrackSeconet interest in the networking conceptSeco CareNet® was very keen. pecial fire detectors are used whereconventional point detectors donot offer sufficient protection due

to special ambient or space conditions,for example in industrial areas andproduction units, computing centers,car parks, road tunnels as well as high-bay racking. Such special detectors areaspiration smoke detectors whichcontinuously sample air for suspiciousparticles, sensor cables that immediatelyregister the slightest increases intemperature at long distances or linesmoke detectors that monitor largehalls or historical buildings for smokedevelopment.

The sensitive smoke aspirationsystem AirSCREEN ASD 535 consistsof one or two mutually independentsuction pipes with suction inlets aswell as a metering box. The smoke of the rooms to bemonitored is suctioned and analysed. If smoke particles aredetected and if these particles exceed a defined maximumvalue, an alarm is triggered. In the heat detecting cableHeatSCREEN MHD 535 a great number of highly-sensitiveand individually programmable sensors have been installedwhich lokalize and report suspicious increases in temperatureand higher values of infrared radiation immediately. Linesmoke detectors, such as the ECO or ILIA systems, areoptimally designed for use in historical buildings, museumsor large halls, as they also meet aesthetical demands, thanksto reduced wiring requirements.

It was already the third time that Schrack Seconettook part in Fire India. The fire protection trade fairis held every two years, the venue alternating betweenMumbai and Delhi. This year Schrack Seconet exhibitedits IP-based fire alarm systems in Delhi, Northern India.The presentation about innovations in fire alarm systemsfor the 21st century by export manager Herbert Hüblwas met with great enthusiasm by a large audienceduring the conference accompanying the fair and alot of interested people gathered at the stand. “Indiancustomers attach great importance to the latesttechnology. Interest in the revolutionary Integral IP,which uses the most advanced communication featureswas enormous,” says Hübl.

In 2011, Schrack Seconet participated in a lot of otherfairs as exhibitor and presented the know-how andtechnology of the future in Azerbaijan, Dubai, Russia,Turkey and Ukraine.

The Asian market is in motionand Schrack Seconet is pleased aboutthe great interest in its high-qualitytechnology made in Europe. InSeptember the company presented itsfire alarm and communication solutionsin India and Thailand. Visitors wereamazed about the innovative spirit ofSchrack Seconet and the high-techcompany again proved its internationallyaccepted competence.

Since 2003, the Medical FairThailand has become an institutionamong medical fairs. In 2011 theorganizers of the biennial event werepleased to have attracted a record numberof participants with 5,500 visitors and328 exhibitors. Schrack Seconet, too,presented its products and solutionsin Bangkok in the halls of the QueenSirikit National Convention Centre. Area

Sales Manager Jürgen Tichy was presentat the fair stand in Bangkok. Tichy: “Wefocused on VISOCALL IP and our newmultimedia IP terminal, which could betested live.
