COVID-19 EVENT WAIVER EXHIBIT “A”The following plan will be enforced throughout all time relevant to the Western Washington Sum-mer Dog Show Cluster (Sponsors: Puyallup Valley Dog Fanciers, Gig Harbor Kennel Club, Seattle Ken-nel Club) all-breed dog shows and the associated events (collectively referred to as “The Event”). This plan is subject to change, as necessary.

1. IF YOU ARE ILL, COUGHING, SNEEZING, RUNNING A TEMPERATURE OR FEEL UNWELL, please stay home because any Exhibitor or Attendee with these conditions will not be admitted to The Event.

2. EXPOSURE TO COVID-19: If you have recently tested positive for COVID-19, or if you have recently been in the presence of a person who has either tested positive for COVID19 or has the symptoms of COVID-19 (including, but not limited to, coughing, sneezing, or high temperature), please stay home because any such by Exhibitor or Attendee will not be admitted to The Event. If proof of a positive COVID-19 test dated from The Event closing dates through July 8, 2021, is submitted, you will be eligible for a partial refund of entry fees.

3. WRISTBANDS AND ADMISSION INTO THE EVENT: The following procedures will be in place throughout The Event: a. Wrist Bands: All Exhibitors, and Attendees will be given a wrist band to indicate The Clubs have a signed Waiver on file. If you lose your wrist band or it falls off, please go to the COVID-19 Monitor for another wrist band; it will be confirmed that a signed Waiver is on file before another wrist band will be issued. Please note you MUST have a wrist band or sticker to pick up any armbands; and b. Failure to comply with these procedures will result in a bench hearing.

4. ATTENDANCE: All Exhibitors and Attendees must adhere to the Social Distancing Guidelines provided in Paragraph 5 below. This includes, but is not limited to, placing chairs six (6) feet apart or creating small “family units.” Please understand that Exhibitors and Attendees may be asked to move, spread out, so that state, county, and/or local social distancing requirements may be main-tained.

5. SOCIAL DISTANCING: All Exhibitors and Attendees must maintain social distancing of the recommended six (6) feet from others in attendance at The Event. Please be cognizant that other Exhibitors and Attendees may have medical issues or concerns of which you are unaware. Those in attendance at The Event will undoubtedly have different levels of concern and fear, and thus The Clubs are requiring that each individual in attendance at The Event be respectful of others.

6. MASKS: PER AKC AND THE CLUBS, EVERYONE IN ATTENDANCE AT THIS EVENT WILL BE REQUIRED TO WEAR A MASK THAT ADEQUATELY COVERS BOTH THE NOSE AND MOUTH PER THE REQUIRE-MENTS OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON, PIERCE COUNTY, AND AKC THAT ARE IN EFFECT AT THE TIME OF THE SHOW. YOU ARE REQUIRED TO SUPPLY YOUR OWN MASK(S). THERE WILL NOT BE ANY EXCEPTIONS.

7. WITH COVID RULES CHANGING DAILY it will be up to the Judge’s discretion and will be posted ringside if masks are required regardless of what county or state regulations may be on the date of the show.

8. DESIGNATED COVID-19 MONITORS: The Clubs will have assigned throughout the duration of The Event “COVID-19 Monitors”, including before and after The Event for set up and break down, who will be responsible for the following:

a. Ensuring that all Exhibitors and Attendees are in compliance with the mask wearing and distanc-ing requirements set forth in Paragraph 6 above.b. Ensuring that all Exhibitors and Attendees are wearing a wrist band as provided to them to indicate that The Clubs have a signed Waiver on file for that individual; andc. Providing COVID-19 Event Waiver to those who need to execute it prior to entry into The Event facilities.

9. SANITIZING STATIONS: Sanitizing stations will be placed throughout The Event grounds which will include disinfecting wipes and/or hand sanitizer.

10. CRATING: Dogs may only be crated ringside 15 minutes prior to, and during judging, and dogs shall not be permitted to be crated anywhere else on The Event or facility premises; with the excep-tion being reserved grooming, automobiles or under personal canopies set-up six (6) feet apart or in small “family units” outside in Parking Lots (Purple and/or Blue lots). Note: personal canopies must

Page 4: FIVE ALL-BREED SHOWS

4 • WESTERN WASH. CLUSTER • JULY 2021

be weighted no staking at all permitted, canopies must be taken down daily. Ringside crates must have the recommended spacing of six (6) feet between them. No grooming or blow dryers will be permitted ringside.

11. RESERVED GROOMING: Exhibitors are expected to leave the grooming area after completing their Breed competition. This will be strictly enforced. The only exhibitors that should be in the grooming area are those waiting to compete in group competition.

12. ARM BANDS: You must know your arm band number and have a wrist band before picking up your arm band. A table will be provided ringside, and the arm bands laid out in advance of each class. Remember to maintain social distancing guidelines while you are obtaining your arm bands.

13. ENTRANCE AND EXIT FROM THE EVENT FACILITIES: a. On the first day of the Exhibitor’s and Attendee’s attendance at The Event, it must be confirmed that all Exhibitors and Attendees to The Event have signed the “COVID-19 Event Waiver.” Entry will be denied to anyone refusing to sign the Waiver. b. Once it has been confirmed that The Clubs have a signed waiver for the Exhibitor and/or Attendee, the Exhibitor and/or Attendee will be issued a wristband to wear for the duration of the event. If that wristband is lost or if it comes off, please return to the COVID-19 monitor to obtain another wristband.

14. HAND WASHING: As always, washing your hands frequently and thoroughly and not touching your face decrease the spread of germs. Continual hand washing throughout the day by Exhibitors and/or Attendees is encouraged. The restroom area will provide a wash station, hand sanitizer and paper towels for drying your hands. The Clubs also suggest that Exhibitors and/or Attendees keep a supply of sanitizing wipes and an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with them and use those items as necessary.

15. RING ENTRY/EXIT: The ring will have a separate entrance and exit, clearly marked. Markings will be placed to assist exhibitors with proper distancing while in the ring.

PEE WEE CLASS SPECIAL ATTRACTION FRIDAY JULY 9 – NO ENTRY FEE – ENTRY LIMIT: 15

The Pee Wee Special Attraction is a pre-Junior Showmanship class. The Pee Wee class is geared toward children 5-9 years of age. Safety is a primary concern.

JUDGE: JESSICA LEWELLEN

Each Pee Wee unit consists of the child, his/her parent/guardian/responsible adult, and the dog. Only one Pee Wee unit is in the ring at a time. This is not a competitive class, but rather a fun, learning experience for the child and the adult.

• A dog must be at least four months of age to enter the Pee Wee class. • Bitches in season will not be allowed to participate. If pre-entered, a dog may be substituted that

meets the eligibility requirements as specified by the club. • All dogs entered must have the proper lead and collar. • A responsible adult must be present with the child both inside and outside the ring. The adult is

to maintain control of the dog outside of the ring. The safety of both the dogs and Juniors inside and outside the ring is a primary concern. Outside of

the ring, the dog is to be controlled by the adult accompanying the child. An additional lead, provided by the Club, will be at the Judge’s table. At the Judge’s discretion based upon the size of the child and the dog, for safety purposes the adult may be asked to attach a second lead to the dog so both child and adult will walk the dog together.REGISTRATION WILL BE TAKEN AT THE CLUB TABLE FRIDAY MORNING, STARTING AT 9:00AM. EACH ENTRANT WILL BE REQUIRED TO FILL OUT AN ENTRY FORM. IN ADDITION TO AN ENTRY, A RELEASE MUST BE SIGNED BY THE CHILD’S PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN. JUDGING WILL BE HELD DURING THE LUNCH BREAK. NO ENTRY FEE. ALL PEE-WEE PARTICIPANTS WILL RECEIVE A RAINBOW ROSETTE.

PeeWee Entries are open to All Breeds, including Miscellaneous and FSS Breeds, and All-American Dogs listed in the AKC Canine Partners Program.

AKC NATIONAL OWNER-HANDLED SERIES

The AKC National Owner-Handled Series is a non-titling competition for dogs that are exhibited by their owners that are not professional handlers. Exhibitors must declare their dog is Owner-Handled eligible at the time of entry on the entry form. Dogs entered in the Amateur-Owner-Handler class will automatically be marked as eligible to compete in the NOHS. Eligible dogs will be identified by an asterisk in the judge’s book, steward’s book & the catalog. Professional handlers,* household members and current assistants to professional handlers** may not exhibit. Dogs must be handled by an eligible owner/handler for the AKC NOHS throughout the breed level (all classes, Winners, and Best of Breed) competition. Additionally, dogs must be handled by an eligible owner/handler for all AKC National Owner-Handled Series competition (Group and Best in Show). Any person may exhibit the dog in the regular Group and Best in Show competitions.

Owner-Handled Best of Breed will be selected from the dogs that are eligible to compete in the Best of Breed competition including Winners Dog, Winners Bitch and winners of the non-regular classes.

• If the Best of Breed/Variety winner is Owner-Handled competition eligible, it will automatically be Owner-Handled Best of Breed/Variety and be eligible to compete in both the regular as well as the Owner-Handled group.

• If the Best of Breed/Variety winner is not eligible for Owner-Handled competition and the Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed/Variety is eligible, the Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed/Variety will compete against the eligible exhibits of the other sex to determine Owner-Handled Best of Breed/Variety.

• If neither the Best of Breed nor the Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed/Variety are Owner-Handled competition eligible and Select Dog & Select Bitch are both eligible, the judge is to choose Best Owner-Handled exhibit from the Selects and eligible Winners Dog or Winners Bitch.

• If one of the Selects is eligible, excuse all Champions and non-regular class winners of the same sex and then choose Best Owner-Handled exhibit from the remaining dogs of the opposite sex including the eligible Winners.

• If Best of Breed, Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed, Select Dog & Select Bitch are not eligible, the judge may choose any eligible dog remaining in the ring including Winners Dog or Winners Bitch as Owner-Handled Best of Breed/Variety.

• If the Best of Winners is eligible, the other Winner is ineligible since it was defeated.

• No class dogs other than the Winners Dog & Winners Bitch are eligible to return to the ring.

The breed will not be represented in the Owner-Handled Group if there is no eligible dog competing in the Best of Breed or in Best of Winners competition.
