What Kind of Vehicle BeltSystem Do You Have?

Use only the vehicles lap and shoulder

belt system when restraining the child inthis booster car seat. Using a lap belt onlywill still allow your childs head to moveforward in a sudden stop or crash, possi-bly causing your childs head to strike thevehicles interior or your childs knees hard

enough to cause injury or death.

There are many different types of vehicle beltsystems. Some vehicle belt systems can NEVERbe used with the booster car seat. For example, alap only vehicle belt will not restrain your childproperly in the booster car seat. The boostercar seat requires the use of a vehicle lap andshoulder belt.

Check your vehicle to determine which typeof vehicle belt system(s) you have. Your vehicle

may have more than one type of belt system. For example, you may find lap-only belts in thecenter seating locations and lap and shoulderbelts in the side seating locations. If you are notsure which type of vehicle belt system you have, contact your vehicle dealer or manufacturer.

The illustrations on the next page show vehiclebelt systems that can NEVERbe used with thebooster car seat. If you do not have a seatinglocation with a usable vehicle belt system, DONOT use the booster car seat. Contact your vehi-

cle manufacturer. The vehicle manufacturer maybe able to install a vehicle belt system that willbe able to restrain your child properly in thebooster car seat. NEVERalter your vehicle beltsystem yourself.
