Knight News October 12, 2018 First Grade Food Drive The York Academy first grade classes conducted their annual Food Drive during the week of October 1. The culminating activity was a school-wide effort to have students bring non-perishable food for the drive and those that participated were able to dress in fall colors. The Food Drive was a huge success with 100 items that will be donated to the York County Food Bank. In addition, $233 in cash donations were received and will go to Heifer International. As part of the International Baccalaureate Programme, each grade conducts a community service project during the year. The Food Drive is the community service project for grade one. Parent Portal Please be reminded that parents may register for a username, password and PIN that will allow access to a great deal of information about your child’s performance in the Academy. In addition to academic performance, parents may check attendance, demographic information, assignments (MYP students) and disciplinary actions. Join us for Latin food, music and activities (making maracas, playing the congas, Zumba and more). York Academy is proud to collaborate with Latinos Unidos of York and the York County Hispanic Coalition for this event. Upper School students wishing to attend must have a permission form on file by October 17. Please plan to bring a Latin dish/item to share.
