It is a comprehensive system that:

• aligns instruction and assessment to standards

• aligns grades to standards

Homework

• First grade will have homework due every 2 weeks of completion.

• In addition to the homework assignments, please have the students read 10-20 minutes a day.

Housekeeping• We need notes first thing in the morning when there is a play

date or change in where students are going after school.

• Birthday Policy:Classroom recognition, but no classroom parties

• Parent/Teacher Conferences:Please sign up for your conference time through Sign Up Genius. An email will be coming by the end of this week with directions. Conferences are held the 1st and 2nd week in November and are 20 minutes long. It is important that you sign up and come on time because if one parent is late, it can make all conferences thereafter off schedule.

• Parent VolunteersParent volunteers will begin in the 2nd Quarter of school. Please sign up in your child’s homeroom after this presentation. Schedules will be sent by email to those who signed up.
