ANNOUNCING...Nancy Aita and Del Raby have just come back from the RotaryInternational Convention in Melbourne, Australia. What a wonderfultime they had! If you've never been to an international convention, try! Next year's will be held in Taipei, Taiwan and the followingyear in Nice, France.
INTRODUCTIONS ABOUND...This year's students going to Kagoshima and their chaperone, PhilGraff enjoyed having breakfast with us. This is one of many Rotaryfunctions they will be attending as our club is half of the SRKSEPprogram. Bon Voyage!BIRTHDAY BABIES...
Carol Estes had a birthday this past week, but she isa bleeding heart and offered her $40.recognition to Ken Coker and Jeff Young at
•$20 a piece. Sorry guys! Rick Franke paid$20 for wife Judy's birthday and declined to tell us herpresent. (Gary Bayless was hoping Rick would come visit however!)As up update to last week's birthday for Dale Zumfelde, it seems hehad different plans than his wife! Shirley held a surprise birthdayparty in his honor and presented him with a Baby Grand Piano! Thenew 88 keys only cost Dale $50.00.ROAMIN ROTARIANS...Russ Lockner took a quick trip to Montana. He says it was just to
check on the property, but we all know he went as a"gilly". (A guide for fishing expeditions.) According
to Russ, its great to be a gilly unless its for relatives, cause relatives don't tip! It still cost him $20.00.Welcome back, Bruce ReyesI Just a quick tritItaly. It seems he visited some old friends, madesome new ones, drank a little vino, ate great food, drank some more vino, was fitted for a bicycle, drank some more vino, admired the cars passing him

on the freeway and drank some more vino. All this drinking andenjoyment cost him $100. He has a rupture in his bleeding heart sohe passed the fine around at $20 to each of the following: Bob
f* Tarvis, Cathy Vyenielo, Bob Scott, Frank Cercone and to the notpresent (boy is he going to be surprised) Rolf Wessman. Thankseveryone for helping Bruce have such a nice time.OLD WORLD KITCHEN...
Ozark style remodeling is happening at the Phil Hulen home, atleast in the kitchen. It seems that someone went by bis home onlyto find the stove and cabinets sitting in the driveway. He didn'tinvite us for a meal, so it cost him $20.00.
AWARDS, AWARDS, and WHAT AWARD WAS THAT?..Ken Coker's firm was given an Award of Merit
along with the Rohnert Park Unified SchoolDistrict for their design in the Gold Ridge,Multipurpose room in Rohnert Park.According to Ken, his firm didn't do the actual
*"" work, it was the project of his newly acquiredfirm, however, he would gladly accept theaward and not so gladly accept the $20recognition fine that was levied. (CongratulationKen!!!)

THANK-YOU...
June 6, 1993Dear Members of the Rotary Club;
Thank you very much for your kind "award" of $258.64 to Boy ScoutTroop 35. It was really needed! When I filled out the application, Isaid we had 20 boys, which we did. Now we have 23, therefore, themoney for the uniforms is a godsend.
I'm very proud of the boys. We've been in existence since February1992, and the boys now understand what scouting is all about, gprmerly timid souls are now taking charge and they have learned a lot.
ire were 16 boys in the troop last summer and 5 returned to theirhomeland and 1 dropped out. The rest have stuck with it and grown. One of the boys who moved stated in class that he wanted to be ascoutmaster as an adult and that when he returned to Costa Rica, hewanted to join a scout troop.

20OTH ANNIVERSARY...Loretta and John Slyh just came
Washington DC. The 200thMonticello was the reason for their trip.
$52 into her Paul Harris. (Is that one-ups-manship?)

THANK - YOU (con't)
Our first senior patrol leader is finishing the 10th grade atMontgomery and wants to be a doctor. Another wants to be anirehitect and two want to be pilots and the list goes on. The troophas given many boys a chance to do enriching activities such ascamping, going to Marine World, or learning how to give first aidthat they would not have had a chance to do otherwise and its veryrewarding seeing their faces light up as they experience somethingmost of us take for granted.
My next goal is to find a place (and a teacher) where they canlearn to swim. Out of 23 boys, only 5 know how. Again, thankyou very much for the $250. The boys will be very happy toreceive a uniform.
/ Sincerely, Sue Guerra (committee chair)
The Board of Directors is saddened to report that Marilyn Pratt,(now Neiman) Classification: Massage Therapist, has resigned fromthe club as of May 14, 1993. We wish her well in her futureendeavors and in her new home in Scottsdale, Arizona.

EDITOR'S NOTE...
It's been a GREAT year, but I can't say I'm sorry to have it over with!I know there are some other people that will say the same becausethey've been instrumental in getting this bulletin out to you on a weeklybasis. Loretta Sfyh, our mysterious, mystery rotarian reporter hasdelved into each of your pasts and come up with some interesting facts.Russ Lockner not only had to come up with some pretty terrificprograms he also had to write about them. Not an easy task and we're
-ail greatful for his efforts. Pea Solar wrote "recognition corner" foriite a time and it wasn't easy keeping up with President Dave's fines.
Last, but certainly not least, our publisher (and his staff) EricVanCleave. If it hadn't been for his efforts, all the best writing in theworld would never have seen an audience. The weekly photo copying, folding, stapling, labeling and mailing was done through his efforts. Iwant to thank each of you for helping make this bulletin possible andfor making my fob~piuch easier! Thanks again and Good Luck to next
- year's crew! \^A -

FELLOWSHIP MONTH
To the Membership of Santa Rosa Sunrise; 1
This time, last year, I was extremely apprehensive about the^xoming year, and all the responsibilities this small, young Rotaryclub had ahead ofit. "\ ' ^:'; }I';'However, once the year began, it became quickly evident to me thatwe would be able to achieve probably every challenge set before;us.For one very simple reason. This club is made up of members" thatare involved in their community, not afraid of challenges, and arealways prepared to roll up their sleeves and get the job doheV *j
At a recent meeting of the District Conference Committee, whowere critiquing the Conference, a member of another Rotary club inthis district expressed the amount of work involved in hosting aDistrict Conference, and how "it simply was not possible for anyone club to host such an event." The immediate response from DGDel was, "What do you mean, one club (SR Sunrise) just did!"
^PKou are all to be congratulated for accomplishing what otherrtotarians throughout District 5130 thought was impossible.
Because of the efforts of this entire membership, this club-has gonewell beyond its perceived limits, and all of you are to be trulycommended.
Thank you all for giving me the opportunity of serving as President, and for giving me so many wonderful memories-over this last year.
Sincerely,
AND THERE WAS MORE...
ANNIVERSARY...^JDale Zumfelde and spouse Shirley are celebrating an anniversary this
/eek. Dale paid only $10.00 for the "every day seems tike a year"remark. Dan and Susan Davis celebrated their anniversary lastweek. In honor of the 20 years they've been together Dan put $100towards his Paul Harris.GRADUATION (AT LAST)...Dan Lambert's first daughter graduated from college this week.(One down and one to go!)
