This Thanksgiving, we will be celebrating our sixteenth Thanksgiving Feast. It is al-ways a tremendous blessing to come together and give thanks to the Lord for all of the many blessings in our lives. On Sun-day evening, November 23rd at 5 pm, we are having our annual dinner. You, your fami-ly and neighbors are invit-ed. As usual, turkey, ham, rolls and drinks will be provided by the church. We are asking that each family bring a family-sized side dish to share (in a disposable container) and a
This year we are ask-ing that each family consider bringing a hat, scarf and gloves for our Samaritan Christmas Project to take place in December. This is a great way to contribute. We need enough hats, scarves, and gloves, to give to each family that participates in the Samaritan Project. We hope to see you there!

Recovery Unit: This class will overview the three types of recovery work done by our Maryland/Delaware Units, chain-saw, mud out, and temporary emergency repairs.
Recovery Administration: This class will teach the student how to perform the administration side that supports the Recovery Unit.
Damage/Assessment: This class teaches the student how to scout disaster area for families needing assistance, assess job site and complete property owner work orders, report on size of effected areas, approximate number of families effected, do they have power, water and amount and type of other relief needed, what other agencies are already there, provide information about available assis-tance, and provide prayer, spiritual/emotional support. The cost of the training is
Disaster Relief training will take place at the church on Saturday October 18 from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm. This training is for those who need to be recertified as well as those who wish to become new members of a team. Classes will be held in the fol-lowing areas:
Introduction to Disaster Relief:
This is the prerequisite course to all unit training and specialized clas-ses. New Volunteers must take the Intro class and at least one "unit class" to receive their certification.
Feeding Unit: This class covers the equipment and operation of a mass-care feed-ing program. Emphasis is given to sanitation and health issues deal-ing with food preparation. NOTE - Feeding unit class is made up of 2 parts. Part One (classroom) and Part Two (hands on). In order to receive credit, volunteers must
$20.00 per person for RETURN-ING volunteers and $30.00 per person for NEW volunteers. The cost includes - lunch, materials, background security check and Photo ID. Those interested in attending should register on the BCM/D website. Required forms can also be obtained from the BCM/D web-site at http://yourbcmd.publishpath.com/uppermarlboro-baptist There will also be a link on our website for these forms. Please complete these forms prior to the training and bring with you to the event. This will save you a lot of time so that you can focus on the training without the distraction of completing paper-work. Also, please know that your photo will be taken on Saturday for your Disaster Relief ID Badge.
