From the Pastor…
Lea and I are just back from vacation and still playing “catch-up.” So let me reach back into June for just a moment and say some “thank-you’s.”
First, let me thank everyone who worked during this year’s Vacation Bible School. It was noisy, hectic, and fun! And most importantly, some of these precious children invited Jesus to come into their hearts! That’s what it’s all about, and that’s what makes our efforts so important and so worth it all! Thank you for being good stewards of your time and energy in VBS. Do continue to pray for your our children and youth. By the time you read this newsletter, our youth will be back from WIRED. Pray that what God did in their lives during this special week will continue to bear fruit. Pray also for our children who will be going to camp in Shocco Springs later this month. That’s another big event that can be a life-changing experience.
Also, thank you for coming to our open house. So many of you came that it was difficult to spend time with each of you. Please know that Lea and I were touched by your presence and very appreciative of your visit. As the old saying goes…now that you know where we live, don’t be strangers. We are always glad to have you in our home.
In worship this month, we will continue to study the great passages of the Bible. I hope you have enjoyed hearing from some of the great Old Testament lines. As I have said, these are words that should be on our hearts and lips as we face life, words of:
Faith—Yet will I trust Him. Trust—He knows our frame, He remembers that
we are dust. Confidence—The Lord bless you and keep you. Obedience—To obey is better than sacrifice. Godly Habit—Until I went into the sanctuary…. Outlook—Who know whether God has brought
you to this time and place? This month, we will be looking at great New Testament passages. I confess that I love the Old Testament stories, but I would not want you to miss the great lines in the New Testament. I trust these words will help us prepare for our August revival services. This year in revival, we’ll be hearing from some great pastors: Ricky Hall, Johnny Fain, Brooks Braswell, and Ray Jones.
