Moment of inertia estimator

…results in lower overshoots as well as shorter speed controller correction times for varying moments of inertia and load torques

Function:When the speed changes, the total moment of inertia of load and motor is determined from the actual speed, the actual motor torque and the low frictional torque.

Friction torque characteristic with automatic plotting

… applications with friction that cannot be neglected can be reliably handled from a control-related perspective

Function:• When requested, the inverter can automatically

plot the friction characteristic. The friction torque is determined at speeds predefined by the motor. Ten interpolation points - speed to torque.

• The torque setpoint is precontrolled based on the determined friction torque

Customer benefits:The precontrol reduces speed overshoot after speed changes. This means that applications with a load friction torque that cannot be neglected can be simply and reliably handled, e.g. applications with gearboxes or belt conveyors.

The friction torque characteristic function can be used together with the moment of inertia estimator to obtain the best control related results.

Simple and user-friendly optimization of your control process

Automatic PID controller optimizationThe optimization technique is parameterized according to the required results regarding overshoot behavior – as well as rise times and correction times of the control variable. A setpointstep is injected into the control system. From the step response, the delay time, correction time and loop gain are measured – and then control parameters KP, TN, and TV are calculated by the inverter.

Customer benefits:Simplified commissioning of your process, e.g. controlling the level in a tank with long correction times. The control parameters for your process are automatically determined.

The technology controller can be simply and easily adapted to your process

BiCo: Enabling the PID controller output Function: The PID controller output can be enabled depending on the occurrence of a particular condition (event).Customer benefits:Simple possibility of intervening in the closed-loop control.e.g. fans with a high moment of inertia -When starting, fans with a high moment of inertia are not able to immediately follow the PID controller output. This is only possible from a certain minimum speed.Simplification of the PID technology controllerFunction: Activating/deactivating the bypass functionWhen using the technology controller, it is no longer necessary to bypass the ramp-function generator with ramp and rounding off functions. Customer benefits: Simple commissioning HVAC applications with low dynamic requirements can use the main PID controller in the same way as the free technology controller.

Fast flying restart with PM330 and e.g. SIMOTICS FD

The inverter can be reliably and quickly connected to a rotating FD motor without any disturbance

General functionality:1. After the ON command, the inverter impresses a search current in the motor and increases the output frequency.2. When the output frequency reaches the actual motor speed, the inverter waits until the motor is magnetized completely.3. The inverter accelerates the motor to the speed setpoint.

Expansion for motors where the rated data is applicable for 100 Hz – FD motors

Stabilization at high speeds using PLL (phase-locked loop) between the voltage model and output of the closed-loop control. Can be configured using parameter p1270. As a consequence, the "flying restart" function does not have to wait for the demagnetization time of the motor – and can identify the motor speed without making a search.
