Page 2: Firefox Tabs Idea

PAUSEClose your eyes and try to

remember each one...

Page 3: Firefox Tabs Idea

Chances are you will not be able to remember them all.

Page 4: Firefox Tabs Idea

Whydo you have so many tabs open?

Since it’s hard to use something you cannot remember...

Page 5: Firefox Tabs Idea

Playing it SafeYou open a new tab when you are interested in a link but don’t want to leave the current page

just yet.

One of the reasons is…

Page 6: Firefox Tabs Idea

What if tabs you have forgotten about could become

a bit smaller… and smaller…

and smaller…

?

Page 7: Firefox Tabs Idea

This will give you more space and keep you focused

So what’s going to happen?

Page 9: Firefox Tabs Idea

Tabs that have not been viewed for the last 30 minutes of Firefox usage (not computer usage)

would start to shrink sloooowly.

Few pixels at a time.

Rules of the Game

No shrinking for tabs that have not been activated yet(may be you have opened it to read later, right?)

You click on tab and it returns to original size(returning to original size should be animated nicely)

The 30 minute timer will refresh with tab activation(you have shown interest in it)

Instead of

You’ll have

Ideally, the size of a tab should reflect its relevance to the user

(more space for new tabs, less clutter)

Bonus Features of this DVD(couple other ideas)

“Bag” for later readingBeing able to drag tabs and links to bag/basket in UI,where they will be stored until user will have time to read them.

Side bar for “permanent” tabsBeing able to drag tabs like Gmail & Facebook (open all the time, he-he) to left side of the window, where they would form a vertical bar of tabs displaying only favicons.

It will free up space in main (workspace) tab area and provide quick access to “permanent” tab no matter how many tabs are open at the moment (right now they are often hidden if you have many tabs).
