What is a FIRE? It is a chemical reaction of fuel with oxygen in a suitable
temperature. Fuel:
Material such as coal, gas, or oil that is burned to produce heat. Oxygen:
A colorless, odorless reactive gas, the chemical element of atomic number 8 and the life-supporting component of the air.
Temperature:The intensity of heat expressed in a scale shown by thermometer.
How dangerous the FIRE is? It is the most powerful force in nature. According to the Bureau of Labor
Statistics, approximately 3% of all workplace fatalities are a result of fires or explosions.
Fire can bring the entire building to the ground in a matter of hours and can devastate the entire forest that has stood for thousands of years.
FIRE is actually the visible side effect of what happens when matter undergoes a change of state by means of a chemical reaction.
The color of the flames depends on the molecule that make of the fuel and subsequently the gas that it releases when it burns.
The temperature at which it burns also affect the color. So you can estimate the temperature of a flame based on its color.
1. RED Color :1. Temperature is 525-1000 *c
2. Orange color: 1. Temperature is 1000-1200 *c
3. White color:1. Temperature is 1500 *c
4. Blue color: 1. Temperature is 3000 *c
Different Colors of FIRE.
Classification of FIRE In order to extinguish a fire properly you have to understand the
materials that are burning. A fire involving wood must be handled differently than a fire involving
