About Bob and Dorothy SmithBob Smith was born in 1939 on a farm west of Frederick. His mother, Jo-
ephine Kotila, was a full-blooded Finn! Bob graduated from Frederick HighSchool and attended a semester of college, but due to his father’s health, left chool and started farming. During those years he served on many co-op andownship boards. After retiring from farming, he moved to Frederick and served
n the town board and was mayor for many years. He is president of the Fred-rick Development Association.
Dorothy (Gutenkauf) Smith was born in 1941 on a farm near Seneca, S.D.She graduated from Hoven High School, then from Aberdeen School of Com-merce. She worked at the Aberdeen Medical Center and later in Medical Re-ords at St. Luke’s Hospital. Dorothy did daycare when living on the farm andlso in Frederick. She is also active with the Westport Sacred Heart Church and
with Frederick Forward.Bob and Dorothy were married in 1965. They have three daughters and
even grandchildren.

For mea lling:2 pounds ground lean bee 1 cup nely chopped onion2 easpoons sal1/2 easpoon pepper1/2 cup chopped resh parsley 1 cup cooked rice
Dissolve he yeas in he warm milk. Add he sal, egg and sugar. Add he our, one cup a a ime. Dough should be very sif. Le risein a warm place or abou an hour. When dough has doubled in size,
punch i down and le i rise or anoher hal an hour.Cook he hamburger and onion unil he mea is no longer pink.
Add sal, pepper, parsley and cooked rice.Roll ou he dough o abou pie-crus hickness. Folded circles
