Finding Texas Newspaper Articles with Newspaper Source

How to Search for Texas Newspaper Articles in

Go to the “Articles” page of the SILC 4315 course guide

Next, click the “Newspaper Source” link to access the database.

Once in Newspaper Source, click on the “Publications” link

In the “Publications” section, enter TX in the search box

Next, change the radial button selection from “Alphabetical” to “Match any Words”

Click “Browse”

Select the check boxes next to the newspapers you would like to include in your search

When you have finished making your selections, click the “Add” button

The Publication Codes of your selected newspapers will appear in the top search box. Click the “Search” button to continue

To find articles on a specific topic, add your search term(s) to the blank search box(es). (Do not alter the Publication codes in the first search box.)

The results displayed on the page show all available articles from the selected newspapers sorted by “Date Newest”

After adding your search terms, click the “Search” button to continue

Click a hyperlinked title to view more information about the article

If you would like to view the article contents, click the “HTML Full Text” icon
