A step-by-step guide
Step 1 From the library homepage, click on WSU Databases
Step 2 Select the WorldCat database. Use the “Frequently Used Databases” link, or find it in the alphabetical or drop-down lists.
Step 3 Select Advanced Search.
Step 4 Enter your search. Make sure to select title, author, or subject if necessary. Select Thesis/dissertation as the Content.
Step 5 Sometimes there will be a direct link to the dissertation. Click on the URL to see full-text items in university repositories. If the full text is not available, request item via interlibrary loan.
Step 6 Click on the title to see the full record of a thesis or dissertation that is not online.
Step 7 Click the Find it! button.
Step 8 This will bring up a new window. Click on More Options.
Step 9 Click to request video from WSU Interlibrary Loan.
Step 10 Enter the 14-digit code from the back of your WSU ID. Your password is your last name.
Step 11 Ensure the form is filled out correctly, then click the copyright agreement box, and click GO. In many cases, the form will be blank. Fill in the information from the WorldCat record.
* You will receive an email from WSU Interlibrary Loan when your thesis or dissertation comes in. It may be an electronic file or in book form. Electronic files will be attached to the email. You can pick books up at the Circulation Desk.
