We live in a world where it is increasingly difficult to distinguish truth from falsehood. Deception both subtle and obvious, comes at us from multiple directions and sources. In this 4 week series, we’ll consider some common philosophies and agendas present in our world and in the Church. As we do that, we’ll seek to answer the necessary question—Is it true, or false? Missions Trip Word of Life has been given an island in Bermuda and they want to hold summer camps on it; maybe even this summer. In order to make this happen they need volunteers to get the property ready. If you want to help and are available 6–11 May, please let Pastor Scott know. Costs include airfare and $200 for meals, transportation, housing and some sight seeing. Meet With Pastor Chris If you have been visiting with us and have some questions, or you would like to have a little more information about the church, please plan to stay for a few minutes after the service today. Pastor Chris and Leann will be available to meet and talk with you in the Friendship Hall on the lower level of the Worship Center. Financial Report The third quarter of our fiscal year is over. A current financial statement is available at the Welcome Desk. If you have any questions, please see Steve Harvey or Doug Lehman or call the church office. Baby Shower Kayleen Allen would like to invite you to a baby shower for her first grandchild, Tate Andrew. Miranda Oquinn is registered at Target, Walmart and Amazon. The drop-in shower is at Cranberry Baptist Church on 18 May from noon to 2PM. Come and enjoy a time of food and fellowship and help prepare this family for its new baby boy. Financial Meeting Following the service on 19 May, we will have a meeting for members where we will discuss the current financial situation with the Church and GBCS. Graduation Season If you or a family member are graduating from high school, college or graduate school this spring, please contact the church office as soon as possible so we can celebrate your accomplishment with you. Graduate Recognition Sunday will be in May. WOW Serving In May The wonderful women of Wednesday nights are serving around our church for the month of May. Projects include cleaning, gardening, visiting shut-ins and organizing. If you would like to help and enjoy fun fellowship, please contact Cheryl O’Neal at 304-575-5620 or call the church office. Meal Train Sandy Parks could use a bit of help with lunch meals, mowing grass, light housekeeping, 10 to noon assistance or grocery shopping while her son, Sam, is back home in Colorado. He will be gone through 17 May. If you can help, please sign up with Meal Train at https://www.mealtrain.com/trains/2q0yee; dietary restrictions are posted there.
