The basic spreadsheet consists of two color-coded tables corresponding to the two device/drug/treatment time scenarios being compared The blue fields allow data entry of the variables being compared. The cost components of each treatment given are listed on serial rows. Supply cost (nebulizer) is usually entered just once at Treatment #1 but recurring costs (drugs and labor) accumulate over time. Extra time for Initial Treatment Education is included. Look-up tables (right) allow hospital costs for drugs and devices to be selected from pull-down menus.
