About the Project
Working at Uber Technologies, I’m always testing and creating training materials. The opportunity I would love to have is joining their design team in SF. One of their main products is the Uber rider app.
Uber is growing steadily and there are a lot of advancements coming in the near future, but there is a lack of focus on the consumer. With this project, I wanted to offer new suggestion options for the user to visit even before scheduling a ride.
Uber Update
Updates are now available on the Uber App where you can find great places near you and book a ride.
Live Test
Primary PersonaUnderstanding who the core users are and distance travelled. Finalizing all in one document was a challenge.
StoryboardsNarratives like these sketches helped me think what functions were absolutely needed.
Project Highlights
AdaptabilityThis Uber project can work with either Adobe xD or Proto.io. Depending on what is available at the workplace, either will be fine.
Functionality/ UsabilityThis app was tested by a small focus group and the results show positive
GainThis new Updates feature can expand to other avenues such as other products, sales, travel notes, or even a camera function
Project Troubles
Scope of FocusAs more ideas flow into creation, it is important to still have the main function work better and easier.
Too Many UpdatesThere could be an issue where the user receives too many updates that it becomes overwhelming and distracting from the main purpose of the app.
Social MediaThere still needs to be some social media interaction update such as “travel”, “saved”, and “scheduled rides” can all be posts on the user’s social networks but need to ensure to implement privileges.
