Home: • Keep doors and windows locked

• When entering or leaving your residence, look around for anything out of the ordinary • Keep your valuables (including laptop computers) locked up and out of sight- preferably in a safe

• Make sure you know the people coming into your house

• Never allow a stranger in your home while you are alone

• Park your car near a street light or lighted area

• Walk with purpose to your vehicle

• Vary your route to work-don’t become predictable

• Don’t publicize your schedule except to trusted individuals (under the home section)

• If you’re an American citizen or green card holder, contact The American Embassy to register with the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (under travel section) • If you’re a citizen of another country, check-in with your country’s embassy for a similar program (travel section)

Work:• Don’t leave valuables (wallet, purse) in your office or work space while away from the office

• Don’t leave your computer on and unattended during the day

• Lock your office when not in use

• Never provide anyone access to your computer or to your log in information

• Don’t advertise your plans, even inadvertently

Travel: • Make sure all necessary vaccinations are up-to-date

• Make sure you have all required documents for travel (i.e. passport, visa)

• Keep an eye open for any travel alerts/ warnings for your destination issued by Global Security

• Be aware of your surroundings

• Maintain a low profile-try to blend into your surroundings

• If someone demands your belongings, give it to them

• Never go alone with a stranger-anywhere, at any time

• When socializing, do not accept food or drink from a stranger

• Plan ahead for electronic needs (power cords, adapters)

• Never carry large amounts of money, credit cards, and jewelry while traveling

• Make a copy of your passport and itinerary and leave it with someone at your home and office

• Use closed faced luggage tags with your business address
