The spring 2020 semester at ValpoCatholic
was a semester filled with adapting to the
changing world during this pandemic of
COVID-19! While campuses across the globe
shut down, ValpoCatholic moved virtual to
continue to provide ministry to its students.
Peer Ministers provide weekly video and
written reflections for social media, student
leaders lead virtual rosary groups, and
missionaries lead multiple bible studies and
hangouts over platforms like Google Hangouts
and WebEx! The entire campus ministry team
has learned to adapt to these changing times
and overcome the obstacles that this time of
social distancing provides.

A group of 17 students traveled to two different
Native American tribes in Winnebago and Macy,
Nebraska with Hope of the Poor. During their time
there, they were able to enter into life and
relationship with the community, while they were
in the midst of crisis. The time was filled with
service, Mass, and adoration. Each evening was
spent sharing a meal and sharing highs, lows, and
God moments with each other, along with
listening to various talks given by our FOCUS
missionaries and Fr. Chris. The mission was filled
with true joy and ultimately ignited the students'
hearts to desire to encounter Christ in the
distressing disguise of the poor.
WINTER RETREAT &MISSION TRIP
Before the COVID-19 pandemic
began, twenty five students
attended the Winter Retreat titled
"Wanted". The weekend was filled
with Mass, adoration, confession,
talks from students and
missionaries, and plenty of free
time! The retreat was focused on
Christ's love and mercy poured out
for each and every beloved son and
daughter of God! This was the
highest student attended retreat in
years!
