HOW DOES CARBON DIOXIDE CONCENTRATIONS AFFECT THE ACIDITY OF
WATER? BY JARED KLEINER & HARRISON FRIES
Background
Global warming
Importance of the oceans
Carbon Cycle
Excessive carbon
Hypothesis
We presumed that the more acid or dried ice that was added to the "ocean water" the more the shells would dissolve and or lose mass.
Materials6 mason jars (tight closing)
35 grams of shells for each jar
Sea Salt
Tap Water
pH testing strips
Sieve
Measuring cup
Procedure
Prepare water
Control Jars
Acidified Jars

Conclusion
Our data rearmed the fact that carbon dioxide emissions do cause damage to calcium carbonate based marine animals. The damage to marine life is only going to increase unless we make a change and humanity works to halt global warming.
